I recall now reading that Miyamoto was thinking of a dog on a chain for the Chain Chomps idea.

Yea, plus they used to shoot balls with chains on them in real cannons. [wiki search] They're called Chain Shot and they were used to shred sails and rigging in opposing ships at close range.

Granted it's not exactly like a Chain Chomp.

That's where I'm putting it. The DS came out in 2004, a year and a half before Xbox 360 and TWO years before PS3 and Wii, but I still put it with those systems in the 7th Generation. It's just a way of thinking about it. I still wonder just where to put the Dreamcast. I'm thinking with Xbox/PS2/NGC even though it came out a year before PS2.

It's really great. I just looked up the achievement guide last night and it's very easy to get all 1000 points.

I just remembered that you could at one time play the Pinball Arcade tables on the PSP and turn the system sideways so you would have a verticle view. I wonder if you can do that with the Vita?

I just got a serious retro fever the other day. It seems to always happen to me around this time of year. I made a list that's mostly filled with NES, SNES and Genesis games and I'm considering buying one of those Hyperkin Retron3 systems. So to heck with next gen.

I'm looking at getting one of those Hyperkin Retron3 systems that play NES, SNES and Genesis games for $70. A new retro game store has opened in my area and I can't wait to pick some old cartridge games again.

I'm in no hurry. I'm going to go get SMT: Devil Summoner - Soul Hackers right now. If I had to choose only one system, I think it would be the 3DS.

I love the Bullet Bill in the Super Mario Bros. poster. I'd love to see a Chain Chomp. I don't know why, but those things are funny to me. I would do a Zuma/Chain Chomp mashup if I was a developer. Or, I would put a Chain Chomp in a cannon to take down other ship's sails in a pirate game. How cool would it be to have a pirate ship that shot Bullet Bills and Chain Chomps? Cool!
