Updates on the way.

I'm looking forward to it!

Also I just remembered to watch this horror showcase the other day at: http://cinemassacre.com/category/moviereviews/monstermadness/sequel-a-thon-2/ It's James Rolfe, aka The Angry Video Game Nerd, doing a really great job reviewing classic old horror stuff. He does one movie a day all through October. On Wednesday I stayed up half the night trying to catch up.

Annabel Lee is the poem I remember because it creeps me out.

Quick Hits: Let's Go Random...And New Music

Love me some Ticket to Ride in that Humble Bundle. I have it on XBLA - played it to death. Wish they would make some more boards. The meatspace board game has tons of expansions.

That image of the iPod or iPhone on the stack of vinyl is pretty cool. It's interesting to think how music has changed in its forms of delivery. The amount of vinyl you could get on that device would probably be enough to build a small house out of.

I couldn't help being a ridiculous fanboy and copy the list of writers and make some notes:

Jeremy Parish (RPG Zen master, 1UP senior editor, Retronauts, other 1UP podcasts. I've been listening and reading him for years. He's a bit deadpan but very knowledgeable)
Seanbaby (humorist - I've heard him on the EGM podcast and read him in a column I used to read; I think it was in the back of EGM. Funny guy)
Chris Kohler (I listen to him every week on Wired's Game/Life podcast. Super awesome!)
Jeffrey Green (GFW Radio host, I must've heard him there when that was a thing)
Andy Eddy (co-writer on Game Over book. One I have to read sometime.)
Kat Bailey (JRPG Zen master. I loved her podcasts RPGRealm and ActiveTImeBabble. She's been on Retronauts and did a blog on 1UP. I think she does articles for Joystiq, com now)
Ryan Scott (name's familiar. I guess I heard of him from 1UP somewhere)
Leonard Herman
Pat Contri
Ed Semrad
David Siller
Martin Alessi
Patrick Scott Patterson
Keith Robinson (Did games for Intellivision including one of my favorites, Shark Shark!)
Alexandra Hall
Robert Welkner
Michael Thomasson (Game historian; a subject I was thinking about today. How would you teach a video game history course?)
Luke McKinney (GamesRadar writer. I must've heard him on their podcast)
Kevin Steele
Steve Tom Sawyer
Kevin Baird
David Giltinan
William Culver

Ni No Kuni for the DS!

Posted on 10/18/2013 at 03:44 PM | Filed Under Blogs

I've heard that the DS version required the use of a large real life book of spells because you need to know how to draw the symbols on the screen. It's seems like a really bad design choice. Who is going to carry around this book to play a portable game? But, I would hope they would just take the PS3 version and scale it down for 3DS. I'd love to draw the spell symbols with the stylus ala Okami and Okamiden.

Yea, I might do that. Maybe rekindle my interest in magazines.

Tabloid Gossip: Who Will Marry Farmer Prince Cary? (And Other Juicy Reviews)

Firstly: I'd marry the butler lady because you are a farmer and stay at home a lot and that knight will just be out on quests all the time and never come home.

Secondly: Rune Factory sounds cool. I didn't know there were dungeons in the game and that you can befriend monsters. Some of my best friends are monsters.

Thirdly: I really liked Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2. It was like a foody, punny Jurassic Park.

Fourthly: I'm going to read your Disgaea review now because I love SRPGs and always wanted to try Disgaea.
