The Weekender 8/22/14 Edition

That sucks about the job. I used to operate forklifts and these things they called "pickers" when I worked at Lowes years ago. I had to wear a harness to pilot the picker because the cab is designed to raise along with the forks, similar to what your working with. Looking back I was young and had no idea if that stuff was OSHA approved. I already knew some other shit was not right and I called them out on it with safely unloading trucks. Cost me my job but I hated the place and was ready to move on anyway.

Still playing Skyrim. I tried to play the new Wolfenstien, that game is tough as hell. Just couldn't hang.lol Wish Destiny was out already.

Watched a very crazy but good movie called God Bless America. If you feel America is being destroyed by mediocrity, vileness, shameless values that put wealth and materialism as virtues, American Idol sludge, you will love this movie. And this movie is so not PC in regards to mass shootings, just fair warning. It was directed by Bobcat Goldthwait.

I just ate a hot sausage po-boy, it was good, but I'm going to pay for it later.lol Spicey and greasy, worst possible combination.

Yeah, that is strange. Most people don't know that New Orleans has had a sizable Vietnamese population since the mid- 70's. There are lot in Houston too, where I got my taste for Bun and Pho.lol But my favorite is Thai. We have couple good Thai places here but the best ones are in Houston. Unfortunetly for me that means I only get to have the good stuff when I go visit my bro.

Comics 'n' Life 'n' Such

We3 is intense, and sad, and satisfying all at the same. One of my personal faves. Pretty much can't go wrong with anything by Alan Moore, I highly recomend League of Extrordinary Gentlemen: Black Dossier. I would love to read those classic X-men stories, but I'm a bit at the mercy of the liabrary cause thats where I get most of my comics lately.

I just wraped up Ultimate Spiderman not sure what series I'm going to try next. Watched a totally crazy movie with my friend that she had turned me on to called "Slacker" by Ricjard Linklater. He is the same guy that made "Dazed and Confused". This one much more asbtract and the whole thing was filmed in Austin.

Still playing Skyrim, just hit lv 38 and got the last two perks I wanted from the lock picking skill that improve the loot and amount of money you get from chests. I'll probably will stick with it until Destiny drops.

Just started reading Cosmos by Carl Sagan. When I say just started I'm still reading the introduction.lol Being the science junky I am it is amazing I have not read it before now.

Food, yes I had a Vietnamese Poboy for lunch yesterday with a Thai Tea. They take the meat and veggies from Bun (noodle salad) and put them on french bread instead of noodles. And I think I'll be eating left over smoked meatballs and salad for dinnner.

Oh G ... Oh Vy Lummox ... I ... Oh God

If I drank that much sweet tea I would drop dead from instant diabetes.lol You drank a little over a quarter of a gallon. I'm sure there was ice was too, but damn that is a lot put down in a single sitting.

Politeness on patrol! (And uh,kinky art)

I'll never be able to look at Amy the same way ever again.LOL! Seriously though nice work. Glad the cops didn't kick your ass. Here the cops are too lazy to mess with you. Not all cops are bad I know, but I fear they are the minority of that species.

Thanks for the heads up. I have been holding off on getting this one because it's been setting at 30 bones since it came out.

My PS360 Weekend

Posted on 08/12/2014 at 08:25 AM | Filed Under Blogs

There are a handful of 360 titles I would love to play, but I've have always been wary of their hardware. When I can pick one up for $100 I might consider getting one, maybe. Other than Culdcept I have never played a video game board game. I have Fortune Street for the Wii in my gamefly Q, sounds like a cross between Mario Party and Monopoly. As a bonus it has Dragon Quest characters which I thought was cool.

Thoughts on art,game-making,Phil Phish, and moral supremacy

Yeah, I saw the same movie Nick mentioned. He just seemed a bit twitchy, high strung. But he had some crazy shit going on too, high stress situation. But his melt down and following "I give up" hissy fit was just pathetic. A real artist makes what they want to make and offers it to the masses knowing not everyone will like it. And to those who don't like it ,fuck'em, who cares what they like. Never mind the irony of caving under the presser of a bunch of key board slugs in turn letting them win. I have no sympathy for the guy. Had he stood up for his art, then I would have had his back.
