What I think about MS's changes: Now it's a "war"!

I suppose for me it's just the little things that rile me, the Vita memory cards for example, Sony's argument that piracey was a real issue (which I'm sure it was to a degree) but ultimately they made a fortune off the system because it was good, and people wanted to buy it. Microsoft didn't really screw over the consumer base with the X Box 360, but they did try with the XBone. They pretty much led the last generation (not as easily as Sony did with the PS2 admittedly) and I think this 'victory' went to their heads. The XBone has some very neat concepts and ideas but telling gamers they couldn't purchase second hand games anymore is an insult to the gaming community (or at least buy second hand for very cheap prices). Games for download would have cost the same as disc despite their overheads being lower, it's just a slap in face to be honest.

Update: gaming and reading

I just get continually sucked into Minecraft, I spend a stupid number of hours creating a town with ships and a port on an amazing seed I used from a forum (glad I did as after the 360 updates it's no longer available). Glad to hear someone else around here is heavily involved in what I might consider to be the game of the decade. I love nothing more than watching vids on you tube of peoples creations!

I get the argument with virtual memory and all but I just didn't buy Microsofts claim that it had to be connected every 24 hrs, surely they could have developed games that would need online connectivity but other that could be played without. PC certainly gives you that choice and ultimately they are the masters of getting this sort of thing right. I just can't believe that the main reason behind their initial decision was sorely for the benefit of gamers, too much money grabbing got them burned!

A New Challenger Approaches!

I honestly just don't know, but I hope they include more serious characters, Pushmo would fit in with other fat round things that seem to permiate too much of the roster in my opinion, I know it's a celebration of Nintendo and all but I like the more 'serious' characters like link so any inclusion of Fire Emblem would get a thumbs up from me. I don't like the addition of the Wii fit trainer either, all the potentially great moves in the world won't stop her from being a bland and generic character. Total dream thats going to never happen but seen as TMNT had a game similar to smash bros on the Wii, it would blow my mind to see the green dudes enter the fray!

Cheers Kev, modern illustration really does take place on the computer a lot these days, I ve seen some awesome stuff created on photoshop/ illustrator and I know how to use the programs myself but for me it just seems to loose some of the skill. I completely understand why it's done though as it's quicker to do, it's a shame but Hollywood doesn't have the patience these days.

Thanks Alex, never got any work published mate, don't think I ve been doing the freelance stuff long enough but who knows maybe one day! I had quite a bit at uni but quite a lot of work was lost in transit...... drink and other things seemed to take priority back in those days. I'm gradually doing stuff now but it's just finding the time.

Thanks Matt! that one took some serious time, I foolishly left the project last minute (for painting at least) so the first few were great quality but as time thinned out I ended up spending the last month on coffee and pro plus!

Thanks dude! the Zelda work is one of my faves, I'm almost finished doing Link vs Volvagi but it's still in the UK and I'll need to get it sent out somehow. The large paintings take anywhere between 1000 - 2000 hours to complete so it's a labor of love.
