I hear you. Though won't be planning to leave gaming for the rest of my life, only the Wii U and Vita interest me to have on this current gen and even though I always had a spot for Sony and I hope to have a PS3, the PS4 hasn't really atracted me.

As for suggestion, how about you do the Twilight Princess version Hyrule Fields.

I greenlighted the game on Steam and I would play the game just to see if it was worth that, but I think i'll follow your advice here. I can stand games with some gameplay flaws (Epic Mickey, some parts of Zelda: Skyward Sword) but other times I don't (Sonic and the Secret Rings), but I don't want to risk the price for this one. Maybe if it's temporally free on Steam.

I definitly agree with Zelda. She might sometimes be a damsel in distress, but atleast she has charisma and she does more than the traditional characters of that kind. I also agree that she should be playable in one game, though my idea for that would be a traditional Zelda game where you get two storylines, one being from Link and the other for Zelda.

As for other characters, call me boring, but my favorite is Link. It's just that he represents the character and with him you feel like you are inmersed in the universe of the game.

I have the first Bioshock making dust on Steam. I wish I could start it, but with because my computer is shitty at PC gaming, I will wait till I get myself a laptop that can do that.

I wouldn't be surprised if that asshat that destroyed the PS4 is someone from 4chan (specially from the /V/ board).
