First Assassin's Creed i've actually looked forward to since 2. Have to wait until the end of this month for the pc version though :(

Yeah, I mean open world games are good, but if you're going for a narrative driven experience, nothing beats a well paced piece of gameplay.

I'm not blaming console gamers, nor am I blaming consoles in general. A lot can be done on a console, I mean look at Deus Ex Human Revolution, or The Witcher 2. The problem is what devs think a game on consoles should be, that if it's on a console it has to appeal to everyone who wons a console.
