Finally broke into the PS3 Realm

Yes, get PS Plus. Like Rangergirl said, you'll have to keep the membership active but the benefits are beyond ridiculous. You'll lose access to the free games if you don't but any discounted games you buy are yours to keep. I've given Sony so much money this past year and I don't regret it.

By the way, that's quite a haul of games to go with the system. You're gonna love it, sir.

This time, the arctic front is taking its sweet time moving on. I can't recall winter storms lasting this long in my neck of the woods (NW Arkansas). We're more vulnerable to floods and tornados.

I'm convinced it was an issue with my game disc. After all, it was used (purchased from Gamefly). I don't think you'll have a problem and being that yours is a PC game, it'll be easier to fix.

RDR is so good. I've put 12+ hours into it since I picked it up a few days ago.

Well, I do tend to forget to post a blog. I'm neglectful but I don't blame that on the weather.

I should revisit The Darjeeling Limited. It's a different, somber film compared to the rest of his work and I think I couldn't connect to the characters enough, especially the Jason Schwartzman character.

To be fair, I attributed Cloud Atlas to the Wachowski's but I forget that Tykwer contributed so much with his segments and his music.

I thought about Sin City 2 but I'm not excited for it. I love the first film, but after The Spirit and his writing for All-Star Batman & Robin, I think Frank Miller is creating sub-par material these days.

Not that excited for Robocop either. The first one is great simply for the combination of the script and Paul Verhoeven's nutball touches. These days I'm convinced that it's an accident/miracle that the film is as good as it is. The new film just looks like a generic video game cutscene. I want to be surprised, though.

The story is easier to swallow if you accept the idea - in the words of Scott Sharkey - that Kojima is fucking with you just for the sake of fucking with you.

RE Cloud Atlas: As far as the makeup goes, as long as you accept that the actors aren't supposed to be completely unrecognizable every time, it works. It also compliments a theme in the film that human beings repeat actions throughout history, so giving an actor multiple roles in which they can explore different personalities helps. It's also cheaper for the budget that a bigger cast didn't have to be assembled.

As far as Fincher goes, you've hit most of the high points already but definitely make time for Zodiac. I think its his best film.

Hey, I appreciate you took the time to read and comment almost point-by-point. Take a nap if you need to. I did.

To be fair, both Dredd and The Raid were in production at the same time so I don't suspect one ripped off the other. They share a similar premise but execute them in different ways.

The final fight with Mad Dog is exhausting. I love when Rama's brother shoves that light bulb shard into his neck and all it does is piss him off.
