I just want my nerd-topia!

Ugh. Inspections. Sorry to hear that, man. Sounds like you're definitely enjoying that PSP though. I wanna get the Ys games but with so many other PSP games to play, I'm not sure when that will be.

Feel free to blog whatever you want. Just blog about games too lol

Things I Have Been Doing

I see that sneenlantern recommended the Foundation series above and you said you have it. Read it! Asimov is my favorite author and the Foundation series, particularly those first three books, is my favorite thing he wrote. Really really great.

I haven't heard of Homestruck but I'll have to check it out. Not sure when I'll have time for a big investment like that but we'll see Smile

The Rail Gun

Posted on 04/29/2013 at 09:27 AM | Filed Under Blogs

I had no idea how rail guns works but that's pretty cool. Thanks for posting. I think the only game I've play with a rail gun is Halo 4 but I don't like it much. I guess I'm just not accurate enough and it takes forever to get a second shot ready.

But the real thing...man! In that video you could see the air ripple when the shot was fired. Crazy!

Retro Game of the Week: Penguin Wars

Awesome little game, Penguin Wars. My favorite part, though, is the victory music when you win one of the tournaments. It's so catchy! Laughing

A General Update Laced with Frustration

Posted on 04/29/2013 at 09:12 AM | Filed Under Blogs

You must have seen me playing Demon's Souls that night that was so frustrating because I haven't touched it since then lol. I took a break and played through Uncharted 2, which was a ton of fun and took only a couple of days, a nice change of pace from the long games I've been playing lately. I'm not sure what to do now because I feel like I could go back to Demon's Souls now (thanks mostly to the encouragement of Yargz and asrealasitgets) but Nick DiMola is going to play it this summer and wants to get a community playthrough organized (see comments above). On one hand I don't want to wait that long but on the other I was the impetus for the idea and it would be cool to have a bunch of people to talk to about it as we're playing. So I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet Undecided

And since I was playing Uncharted 2 so much, I haven't gotten back to Mega Man yet. I was hoping to have it done by the end of the month...which is tomorrow. Doable, certainly, but we'll see if it happens.

As for Raiden Legacy, it's a little strange what's included. It has just the first game and then Raiden Fighters, Raiden Fighters 2, and Raiden Fighters: Jet. I've tried out the first game and it does control shockingly well. The touch controls are very responsive. There is just the small matter of my finger getting in the way sometimes. Makes me wish I had an iPad or the iPhone-sized iCade. It's fun though, so I'm looking forward to trying the other games Smile

Amazing VG Themes: Ending Themes

Posted on 04/26/2013 at 02:21 PM | Filed Under Blogs

Nice picks. I'd never heard the Skies of Arcadia ending theme (though it is in my backlog), so that was a treat. I love Mario Kart 64's ending theme. It really transcends the sum of its parts.

What next?

Agreed! I just sat there dumbfounded as the credits went by. Great game!

Internet Woes and OCR Spotlight: 600 A.D. in Piano

The soundtrack really can push a good game into being a great one. I don't think CT would be as fondly remembered as it is if the soundtrack wasn't so incredible.
