April 2013 Recap

Posted on 05/14/2013 at 04:57 AM | Filed Under Blogs

There's definitely plenty to keep us busy. Personally, I like it when there are droughts of new games because it gives me a chance to catch up on all I've missed lol. Bayonetta is one that I've been wanting to get for a long time and it's pretty cheap now so maybe I will. On a similar note I'm thinking of starting Vanquish soon. It's been downloading all night off PSN (over 11 gigs but it was free thanks to PS+).

I think this was originally a PC game from back in the day. Not sure why it got a second chance at life but I'm glad it did. I've heard it's very good and would like to get a copy of it sometime.

Iron Man 3: Enjoyable Farce & 'SPLOSIONS!

My wife and I are gonna see this...sometime lol. Robert Downey Jr shines as Tony Stark, so I'm glad to hear he's center stage in this one. Everything you said just reinforces what I was expecting. Looking forward to it Smile

I miss the days when anything Sonic Team touched was good.

The story may be more baisc but it certainly sounds interesting. I'm definitely more intrigued to play it now after reading what you said.

If U2 didn't have great characters, then it'd just be a fun Indiana Jones knockoff. Lords of Shadow feels like a buffet knockoff, plenty of ingredients but no main dish.

One of the great things about the piano is that it can facilitate such a wide variety of styles. It can cater to everyone, more or less.

If you can round up two peeps to sit on the sofa and play it with you, definitely give it a go. It's a ton of fun and readily available on Virtual Console.

Secret of Mana is probably the best place to jump in because it's readily available on Virtual Console, though the best way to play it is with two friends or siblings. That's a blast. Final Fantasy Adventure on the Game Boy, which is actually the first Mana game, is pretty good. Legend of Mana on the PS1 is a love it or hate it kind of game. I think it's hard to get into Undecided The rest are kind of hit or miss, unfortunately, except Seiken Densetsu 3...but like you said, it's never been officially localized Frown

All Your Base Are Belong To Us - Book Review

Some people turn their nose up at it but I think that's mostly a case of disliking something that has been successful. It's kind of like the granddaddy of video game books and it's a really interesting read, so I'd definitely encourage you to track down a copy even if, like me, you get it from the library lol
