So funny that I had a similar experience with FFX. I had a friend who kept going on and on about the game and basically put his copy of the game in my backpack and said "you better play this"! I had fallen out of gaming at the time, or started getting back in, but he basically gave me like 1 week to play it before he kept bothering me to give it back. He also gave me Kingdom Hearts 1 and forced me to play and hyped it the same way. I might have missed out on these series which I really love now. FFX probably stands out to me the most because I had a friend to nerd out about all of it. He also got me to buy an HDD for PS2 and play FFXI, which was my first MMO. 

I have CHRONO TRIGGER on DS, and I really love that game. I'm behind on SUIKODEN too.

How many hours did you finish Trails? I'm still playing Xanadu. I've unlocked short cuts like Dark Souls or Metroid, so now it's easier to get around, plus there is a medallion that lets me warp back to hub anytime.

Have you watched TOKYO GHOUL anime by any chance? It's one of the most recent animes I've enjoyed. Also, WHEN MARNIE WAS THERE is pretty moving for a cartoon.

Wait, did the HD remakes crash or OG versions crash? I lost like 40 mins of progress a few times and I got fed up. 

About the resolution, I don't know? I played the GOG version and it seems to have less settings options than the JPN version I DL. The GOG version looked really washed out and a bit blurry, but the JPN version seems to be much sharper for some reason, not sure why? Again, the JPN version seems to have more graphics options in a seperate menu. The screenshots on gog are much sharper and cleaner than the game I played. I don't know what thats about? Bad port maybe? But it was originally released on PC, so I don't get that. 

I tried playing the HD remake of Bioshock 2 and it kept crashing alot so I uninstalled in a rage. I love the atmosphere. I might have to install OG version because it did draw me in and I loved it. What are your thoughts on Infinite? I stayed away due to reviews, but was it that bad?

Where did you get stuck in Xanadu Next? There are obstacles that require special upgrades to unlock, like Metroid, and there are crate and switch puzzles, but it seems pretty linear and actiony. I ended up DLing a JPN version w/ ENG patch because I enjoyed it so much. Its very grindy though, like Diablo. For some reason the JPN version looks sharper? Odd. 
Can you play Trails w/ mouse and Keyboard or is it better w controller? I'm playing Xanadu w M&K. 

I started playing Xanadu Next which is also a Falcom game and actually quite love it. It also has a PS1 graphics look and a mix of Diablo with zelda gameplay. There is a main hub town with shops to buy new weapons gear and a clicky top down hack n slash combat like diablo, but there are also dungeons and areas that require keys to proceed further, which you get from enemy drops or shops. The music is fantastic. My only issue with it is that the inventory seems to be buggy. I can't equip or use items in the lower half of the inventory screen for some reason which has made the game unplayable for me. It is really good though, but the bug is a deal breaker. I should jump on to Trails and the Sequel then. The Xanadu world is also interconnected, like souls which I quite loved actually. 

I played Oath and Origins, I think? I agree. They are pretty fantastic actually. They deserve more praise. I loved rolling across screens and killing all the things. Pretty fun time. I know alot of people love Persona 4 Golden as best thing ever on portable, but fuck, this is awesome too! 

I voted by mail and a week early. I wasn't enthusiastic about it at all and I wasn't surprised by the outcome either. I do agree that you can't sit on the sidelines and get to bitch about things after. The thing that frightens me right now is how quickly all of that orange goo's vitriol and racism has become normalized by the media. I honestly don't even know what to read anymore. Social Media is an echo chamber. Mainstream media has already moved on with the "New Era" and are capitalizing on everyones grief. There is also a lack of voices and point of view from POC and other minority groups in the media-- groups that will be most harshly impacted by the fascist America elected. It will be 4 years of hell!!! Maybe 8 if the left can find it's backbone fast enough. It won't! We've been through this scenario before and a lot of people died for pointless reasons. 

Apparently no undecided voting for DT admitted they were doing so, so everyone was surprised in the end, even Reps I guess. Also, this neverending reality tv coverage and poll number prediction modeling and horse race just fucked with everybody in the end since it was all pointless. No real issues were ever addressed thoroughly on TV as much as the mudslinging, except for a few newspapers. Also Russia and the FBI butting in? What the actual fuck just happened?
