Of Comic Books, Fire Emblems, ZombiU and Vitas

Posted on 02/22/2016 at 07:25 PM | Filed Under Blogs

I got a Vita for Christmas.  I looked to see if any stores still carried Vita games and nobody did.  I ordered the five games I knew I wanted online, luckily I didn't have to pay too much for them.  I'll probably write a couple of blogs later on about those Vita games in the next couple of months or so.

In this game, the characters I'm most familiar with come from Capcom.

BaD 16: The One With Fourteen People And Two Dinosaurs Have Rage, And 92% Finished With Lego Jurassic World

For me, LEGO Jurassic World was one of the more humorous LEGO games.  Lots of funny and silly comedy bits.

Mario Spin-off Games #16--Mario Golf

I never got into the Mario Golf game on N64, but I really liked the one on GameCube!

BaD #16: Video Games Live

I went to Video Games Live a long time ago and got to meet Tommy.  He also did the music for Pac-Man World, and did a good job with it.

My favorite Zelda game is Link's Awakening.  Have you ever played that one?

I have almost 300 badges in Nintendo Badge Arcade, and I haven't paid one red cent for anything in that game!

BaD Twenty-One: Fire Emblem, Figures, and Deadpool

I'll pass on Fire Emblem, but there are Fire Emblem characters in Project X-Zone 2.

BaD 20: Captain N's Favorite Anime

Posted on 02/21/2016 at 12:32 PM | Filed Under Blogs

I'm not too big of a Speed Racer fan, but I've watched a lot of it.  I loved the episode of Dexter's Lab that makes fun of it.

I think the first anime I watched as a kid was Star Blazers.  It was known in Japan as Space Battleship Yamato.  They did a remake of it recently.  Also watched a lot of Voltron as a kid.

I actually liked the first couple of seasons of Digimon.  I've reviewed a lot of Digimon and Pokemon games over the years.  While I'm not a big fan of the Pokemon cartoon, I think it is one of the better video game based cartoons and Team Rocket is awesome.

Not a big fan of Dragon Ball Z, but the orignal Dragon Ball is one of my favorite anime series.  I just like the tone of the early Dragon Ball more than DBZ.

Other anime I like include the 2003 version of Astro Boy, the Kirby cartoon (that counts as anime, right?), most anything Miyazaki/Ghibli related, and Flint the Time Detetive is a guilty pleasure.

Retro Review: Mega Man X

Posted on 02/20/2016 at 02:57 PM | Filed Under Blogs

Even though I prefer the original Mega Man, the first Mega Man X game is exactly what the series needed at the time.  Mega Man X is also one of my favorite Mega Man games, alongside MM3, 2, and 8.  I had this game back in the day (still have it, actually) and I knew where all the sercrets were and I could probably go back today and remember where everything is.  Mega Man X still shows up in games even today, like Project X-Zone 2.  Also, if you like the gameplay of Mega Man X, there is a game on Steam called 20XX that plays just like it.
