Xbox Next always online = Fool's game.

Well, they got me now into watching their May 21 presser despite having zero interest in Xbox Next. I want to see what the skinny is on this "always online" plan they have.

The rumors about banning used games is something lost in the furor. I would like to see that addressed.

What a rainy week...

We've had 5 significant snowstorms in Ottawa in April the last 20 years. It happens every few years, sometimes consecutively. The Weather Network now says 15 cm and it will be mixed with ice pellets and freezing rain. I'll probably not bother shoveling it. It will be melted away by Sunday or Monday,

We're getting snow Friday, maybe 8 inches. At least it will have melted by Tuesday.

Not as hard as it seems. If you played the game on Normal, you'll have a good idea of what to expect.

1912 vs. 2013

Yes, you're missing out on something special. In my case, good thing the PS3 has gamesharing to help out those who want to buy the latest games but can't afford the $68 to pay for it.

Do you think video game journalism will be seen as respectable ever again? I miss the days of Electronic Games, Electronic Fun or the first run of EGM when you had real professional journalists writing some amazing articles. Nowadays, you have poseurs acting half their age showcasing their biases. I can't see it ever returning to their glory days, myself.

Yoichi Wada resigns! YES!

I bought the PC version of 2 and it had a lot of issues: Games For Windows-Live eventually wouldn't load an update, rendering the game unplayable unless I went through some hoops and the game had no controller support. I also found some areas of the game near impossible to complete on normal. When you need to lower the difficulty to Easy after 15 attempts to defeat a swarm of enemies going after you and the Little Sister, that's a bad sign.

I did play Thief on the Xbox but I didn't really get into the game. Back then, I wasn't into stealth games. I've been trying to give these games a chance with the likes of Human Revolution, Dishonored and Mark Of The Ninja and I'm more receptive to that genre now. As long as they get a developer that knows the Thief canon, it should be in good hands.

Still alive! just had to check in!

Tales of Xillia English Footage Impressions

I'm also a big fan of the Tales series. Tales Of Symphonia is my favorite of the bunch. I also finished Symphonia II, Abyss and Legendia. I did play Vesperia but never finished it due to having to sell the 360 to pay for a new PS3 after my old 60 GB model died. I'm going through Tales Of Graces F now; with Ni No Kuni waiting in the wings. I'll certainly be buying Xillia.

The voice work of Graces F is uneven. Hubert simply lays it on too thick with his bitter angst, Pascal is way over-the-top; though she does have a personality and Cheria's voice actress seems to be fighting between sounding 11 and 18. Still, it's not bad but I prefered the voice work in Symphonia and Legendia.

I would like to finish Vesperia someday. I was about 20 hours in. Might just import the Japanese PS3 version.
