The Legend of Zelda: Shard of Nightmare and Hyrule Warriors News

Posted on 05/20/2014 at 07:34 PM | Filed Under Blogs

It doesn't surprise me that Team Ninja is involved with Hyrule Warriors, as Tecmo and Koei are practically the same company now anyway.

I think when they came up with Hyrule Warriors, they were like, "How do we get Cary to play a Dynasty Warriors game?  Let's put either Kirby or Zelda into it!"  And I guess they went with Zelda.

And yes, a playable Princess Zelda in that game would be neat.  I'm tired of Link. :) (not really)

I saw Godzilla this weekend, too!  I enjoyed it.  I used to watch Godzilla movies when i was a kid, so I felt like a little kid during this movie.

Insector X is a cute shooter but I found it very hard.

KiKi KaiKai had a couple of sequels on the SNES and GBA.  You might know them as Pocky and Rocky.

I seem to remember that Kuri Kinton game being kind of fun.  Better than Legend of Kage anyway.

No I'm not going to E3 this year.  Same reason as last year and I'm not happy about it.

Whenever I would go to LA for E3, I would end up meeting some celebrities.  Some that I can remember include that X-Files lady, Evil Kinevel, Gary Coleman, some famous Zumba fitness instructor gal, a WWE Diva lady, Stan Lee, David Crane (Pitfall creator), and Charles Martinet (voice of Mario).  And Ulala from Space Channel 5.  Ha ha!

Lets discuss that whole Microsoft dis-Kinect hoopla thing...

Whenever the PS4 and Xbox One have games that appeal to me, then I'll consider getting one.

When I was little, I got ear infections all the time until they put tubes in my ears.  It must be hereditary because all my brothers on my dad's side had ear infections, too.  They really hurt!

I just got a review code for Child of Light.  I haven't played it yet, but I will soon.

I love that arcade poster in the background of that Captain Neo YouTube video.  So full of 80's cheese.  The cool thing about the original Darius is that it was three screens wide.  Very different back then.

Metal Black is so cool, though.  The power-up system is unique, and you get to fight bosses like a giant crab that uses an aircraft carrier as a shell, and a monster who hatches from the moon like an egg!

Oh yeah, I knew about Puchi Charat already.  A cute puzzle game with colorful characters with combined gameplay elements from two of my favorite Taito games (Arkanoid and Puzzle Bobble)?  Yeah I was familiar with Puchi Charat long before Taito Legends came along.

Speaking of Arkanoid, one cool thing about Arkanoid DS is that you can edit the look of your flipper and blocks to make the game look like Puchi Charat!

Chack N Pop is actually the predecessor to Bubble Bobble.  Some of the same enemies appear in both games.

I love Cleopatra Fortune.  The music is so infectious.  The main character in that game also shows up in Puchi Charat, another Taito game that's like a cross between Arkanoid and Puzzle Bobble.

Never really was into Crazy Balloon or Front Line.

I love G-Darius and Darius Gaiden.  They're so weird and unique.  I love the music, too.  One of my favorite video game tunes is actually from a Darius game.  It's the very first level of the original Darius.  Do a YouTube search for "Captain Neo" and you can hear it.

Have you played Taito's Metal Black yet?  It's also a shooter on Taito Legends 2, and it was originally supposed to be a Darius game.  It has that same unique feel to it.

I also like Don Doko Don, but I enjoy any single screen maze type game.

Dungeon Magic is cool, too.  I always picked the green elf lady.

My brother Jeff loves Elevator Action Returns.

When I was little I saw Alpine Ski in nearly every arcade, but I never really liked it.

I enjoyed playing that Arabian beat 'em up game on Taito Legends 2.  It had a neat theme and fun characters.

Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo is WAY better than Columns!

Balloon Bomber isn't that great, but there are some neat advanced strategies to playing the game and getting a high score, though.

Bonze Adventure isn't that great, but i do like all the Yokai themes in it.

Bust-A-Move is one of my all time favorite puzzle games.  In fact, I just wrote a review of one of them.  I hate the name Bust-A-Move, though.  i wish they would've just kept the original name: Puzzle Bobble.  Anyway, here's that review:

I also love Cameltry.  It's also known as On the Ball in the US.

Comix Zone was cool and way ahead of its time, but also way too hard.
