i have windows 8.1 and I've grown to like it quite a bit now that I know how to use it.  IT's not so bad, just unintuitive at first.  I almost never use that area where it's little pics and icons, whatever that's called, where it goes when it starts up.  That is useless.  I'm always on the desktop.  

unskippable cut scenes blow.  

I'm not really into podcasts, but 50 episodes is quite a feat!  Congrats and keep at it.  Looking forward to episode 100!

never played the first two.  I have em through GOG.  I tried playing some GOG games yesterday but they didn't play nice with windows 8.1. I bet there's work arounds, I just haven't tried them yet. 

there might be a demo on steam.  it's not 3D, is all cel-shaded, and I imagine it would work on a machine that's not too powerful.  I'm looking at the specs now and you only need 2 gigs of ram, windows xp, and no 3d card.  So I bet it would work.
