Aw man, I should find out if Steam has Red Dead Redemption. I doubt it, but that game looks so good.

Twitter account suspended?!

Aside from providing updates about the radio station that link to Facebook after I type them, like telling everyone we have new music, etc., I stay the fuck off Twitter. There's nothing I use it for I can't also use Facebook for and it seems to mostly be an outlet where celebrities can get themselves in trouble. Like Cee-Lo Green for example. I had no idea he was even in a bad legal situation until that tweet about how it's not rape if the woman's unconscious, but now I think he's probably guilty of whatever it is he's being prosecuted for.

Casey Ranks Mario Games

I did love Super Mario World as a kid, but I never did get the hang of that cape. Whatever level that was my older brother would play with the cap and a shit-ton of coins always had me asking "How are you doing that? I can never get that to work?" I actually didn't play Super Mario Bros. 3 until much later, and now that I know how the Tanooki tail works, I can figure out the cape, but it wasn't coming to me as a kid. Not sure if I like SMB3 or World better. World would have to be the Mario game I remember most though, even though Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt was the first game I ever played. Speaking of which, I would like a light gun at home again.

I played Super Mario 64 a year or so after it came out and was not at all blown away by it. I have Super Mario 64 DS, which everyone says controls poorly because of the D-pad, but I actually think that and the camera are fine enough. I don't know that I'd blame any of my deaths in the game on either of those factors. I just never found Super Mario 64 all that interesting.

Super Mario Sunshine is probably the most fun I've ever had with a Mario game. I loved FLUDD and the platforming sections, but yeah, the game could get frustrating. As for the setting, I actually really liked that the main hub of the game was a tropical setting, while the levels themselves varied slightly more. I think that vacation feel may have calmed me down after particularly hard platforming segments. Maybe. Probably not. Fuck those squids you surf on. That part was fun, but damn did it get on my nerves after some failed attempts.

Even though I don't own a Wii or Wii U, I really want to play the Galaxy titles to see what all the fuss is about. Those seem to be pretty much everyone's favorite as far as modern Mario.

I read "I'm Miya-fucking-Moto" as "I'm-a Miya Fucking Moto" in the same voice Mario would use to say "Mama Mia, Spicy Meatball"

I really thought they were going to take one look at it, decide I was trolling them, and just give me a plain ol' marina and parmesan meatball sub. But no, that pepper jack/blue cheese combo was amazing. The tomatoes were also great. Seems like they cooked those too before putting them in the sammich, or maybe it just got done between the bread while in the oven.

Nostalgic Vacation: 1980 - Rogue

I love platforming games, but mainstream ones mostly. I rarely repeat a level all that many times in a platformer unless it's a later level. I wonder how much of Super Meat Boy I'll actually be able to stomach. But I grew up on Super Mario Bros., Super Mario World, Street Fighter II: Turbo, Star Fox 64, and other games that rewarded good hand-eye coordination and quick reflexes. I still prefer action and platforming games to most other genres.

Meanwhile, while adult me is able to keep up to speed at a somewhat reasonable level in a graduate level stats course, younger me had huge math anxiety and couldn't stand RPGs for their boring wait-your-turn fighting systems or their focus on character statistsics. I love having numerical measures for my characters' abilities now, mostly because I like seeing the progress I've made represented in an obvious and visual way, but I still lean away from turn-based battles and I hate random encounters with a fiery passion.

Pokemon Red vs. Blue

Looks like they treat it as one game as well. I personally think the exclusive Pokemon alone should have warranted the numbers for each red and blue box being tracked separately, but nope.

That's cool. How'd you like it at the time?
