Haha, I'm glad you like my PS2 choice as I thought picking a Final Fantasy was pretty standard. Then again, a lot of people only like just FFX or just FFXII.
I always identify MGS2 as an Xbox game as that was the platform I played it on. And boy, did I play that game a lot!

I have finished both Harmony of Dissonance and Aria of Sorrow. I thought HoD was kind of average. I didn't like the castle design, the music or many of the bosses. Aria of Sorrow was great, but it still didn't have as great a castle or music to me. AoS was the third "Metriodvania" I played too, so it might just be that CoTM felt more fresh as the first I played.
I've only watched the first movie (though I own the second, I'm kind of saving it for later!). I liked it, but I liked those first six or so episodes better in the TV series despite the lower quality animation. It downplays the story and seems to focus on the action a bit too much. Though I do hear the second one is much, much better.
Hopefully Toonami might get a new wave of fans for the series.
Yeah, Baird is a pretty lame character to star in a game. This could have been a good opportunity to even star one of the female character. Despite the apparent contingent of fans who 'refuse to play as a women.' God forbid Gears of War tones down its dude-bro machoness!
I might get the game soon though as it comes with Gears of War 1 (which I don't own) in early copies. Then again, I can also get Gears 1 pretty cheap anywhere!
As I said on Tami's blog, I saw Flogging Molly live and I liked them then though any attempts to listen to them on youtube or whatnot have failed. I think it might be the bagpipes that turn me off from them. The pipes sounded much more natural when I heard it live.
Looks good. I love SRPGs and this one doesn't seem like just another FF Tactics clone. Consider me interested.
Only about half of these I'm familiar with. What you describe in SoTC would probably be one of mine too. I really liked how each time you took down one of the collosi, the game would kind of make you feel sorry for the creature. You're not slaying a monster, but destroying a thing of beauty.
Final Fantasy's often have a thing for strong openings I think. I wasn't a huge fan of FFVI, but that opening was really cool.
I still haven't watched the video and I don't plan to. I am enjoying reading all the responses to it though. I agree that she needs to enable comments. How can you ask for all that money and then take away your viewers means for feedback?
I haven't listened to much of them, but I looked up another song and I really liked it.
