Well what did you expect? Half-Life was first a PC game. Besides, packs like that are common on Steam.

I've gotta say that Forza Horizon 2 is also tempting me for an Xbone together with Sunset Overdrive and the Halo Masterchief Collection. Still not enough....
That's a very nice list. I think the only thing I question is Hearthstone, but not because is bad (I haven't even played it), but because it was released on 2013. One Finger Death Punch, This War of Mine, Dungeons of the Endless, Wolfenstein and Transistor and Dark Souls 2 are on my wishlist and I even if I got vanilla Metro 2033, I will wait for a good price reduction for the Redux version.
Kind of a shame only you with Jamison and Joshua had top 10 lists to post this year, but I did read them and were also very good. You should also tell Jamison that i'm prefering the story of DanganRonpa 2 over the first and Smash Bros. Brawl is amazing :P
You have quite a lot. Since you've been saying that you need something short, Hotline Miami is the way to go.
I also recommend to finish the first Portal before the starting the second game and from the rest of the list, Rayman Origins, Half-Life 2 (no worries if you want to start with the first though), Cave Story, Dust, Psychonauts and Super Meat Boy.
I think it is necessary.
First on non-Metal: well the Sega Genesis and PS3 also needed two years to not be a waste of time, and fuck off, the Wii U pad is great :P
On the main theme of the blog, awesome all around. My favorites here were from Mastodon (I alrady loved that song either way), Insomnium, Primordial, Soen, Behemoth and Panopticon. Ne Obliviscaris would have been also here if you didn't post it before and I don't want to hear the full album until I have it at my own hands.

I would have gotten that physical collection if I didn't forget about it, but i'm very fine with having them on PC, especialy for the badge system on Steam.
I've heard that most non-steam digital console games rarely have price reduction unless it's a sale, so the best bet would be a physical copy.

Someday i'm sure i'll play Halo 4 and the rest of the saga. I'm just like Totalbiscuit, hoping Microsoft lessens their exclusives and bring the Masterchief Collection over PC. Ryse and Dead Rising 3 were supposed to be the big boys of Xbone, but now they are on PC and they also brought the spin-off game Spartan Assault, so there's a slight chance.
