I rented this a couple of times as a kid. I found it surprisingly playable.

This is definitely a landmark game. Usually I don't like hard games, but I like the Gradius games because even though they're hard, you feel like you can get a little further each time. So they're tough, but fair. I really wish we got more of the Parodius games in the US.
Don't ever talk to Squall. I prefer talking to Terra instead.
"Empire? Magitek Armor...?"
Hmmm...well, maybe not.
Hi, my name is Cary and I write game reviews for a site called GamerDad.com. We review all kinds of games, but specialize in kid-friendly games! So let's see if I can help you.
The number one game I would recommend to you if you want 360 titles is Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. It's somewhat open world, lets you drive all sorts of cars that you build yourself, and it's probably my second favorite Xbox 360 game ever!
LEGO games are also great. I just finished reviewing LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, and that would be a good pick.
While I wouldn't recommend Soul Calibur to every kid, if you're OK with your kids playing them, Soul Calibur IV and V are both great and are my number one 360 games.
Another quirky title I like on the 360 is Beautiful Katamari.
I really like Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, but I don't know if that would be too hard.
If your kids love Mario Kart, try the Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing games on 360, too.
And please check out www.gamerdad.com, there's lots of recommendations there, too! --Cary
Actually the Lara Croft game reminded me more of a co-op Zelda game, but with a lot more shooting.
I don't think I've ever heard of Darkside Chronicles.
That's OK, I haven't beaten it yet either. I did make it to the last boss, though.
Fatal Frame really isn't too gory or bloody. And it's about ghosts. I like ghosts.
Actually Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light isn't much like The Cave, I just grouped them together because they were both PSN games I played for free via PS Plus.
Ah yes, Resurrection. I couldn't think of the name for it. Xevious...something.
