Yes, BattleBlock is very much like the Alien Hominid PDA games.  They even use some of the same music.

Around the house, we also really like some of the Arena modes.  Especially the basketball one.

Yup, that was my reaction, too.  I've also seen Angry Birds Flavor Ice, but I didn't get that because I don't like Flavor Ice.

I'm not info Borderlands myself, but if you like Borderlands, you may want to pick up Poker Night 2.  I'm working on a review of it right now.

Mario Kart and Smash Bros. are great.  Other multiplayer games like Castle Crashers, BattleBlock Theater, and Soul Calibur series are huge hits around the house.

There's a big ren fest in Dallas called Scarborough Fair.  I went a long time ago, but not anymore because it's too expensive and too far away.
