So this is my new user feature thing I am going to start. It is not completely fleshed out but I have a bunch of ideas for it and I am going to go with them and see what works and what doesn't. WARNING: I am not a pro, Olympic writer, beast journalist, or an English major. So this feature will just be kinda for me to reflect on the games I play and hopefully just give someone a smile on a crappy day or just to help with procrastination round the community.
which is why I slept in until late afternoon, wrote my paper hastily and left for class at 4pm. Just now got done working out after eating after class.
I've often come to think about the whole games as movies. And with Need For Speed coming to theaters eventually I have wondered...Why hasn't it worked? It's a bit perplexing. You have these fantasy realms in which to explore and try to bring to film. But Hollywood has had a hard time bringing games to the big screen. Yes there are critical successes. Wreck It Ralph while not a video game, was video game inspired. And it seems to be that way with most things. One highly fascinating video game documentary is King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters. Or going way back we can take a look at Disney's Tron...a computer animated, technological feat.
Touch Force, a vertical scrolling shmup, is a really cool idea. Instead of touching the screen with your finger to simply control your ship, you touch the screen to create your ship. Better yet, the more fingers you can fit on the screen (up to five), the more ships you can have at once. Lift your finger(s) and your ship(s) disappear, but you’ll start to lose life if you stay off the screen for more than three seconds. It’s a neat twist on a genre that seems so played out at this point. The first level is free to try, so give it a shot!
Not fishing, it's a manga about fish, apparently. Just heard about it from the one podcast I regularly listen to, Weekly Manga Recap (it's way at the end where they bring it up). The idea is oddly interesting, I may try to give it a read through if I can find it.
Hello Pixlbit! It’s the final stretch of Blog A Day, you guys doing well? Any gas left in the tank? If there isn’t finish strong anyways! For the final week of BaD I thought I would jump into the theme of Grab Bag. It could be mini blogs of ideas that didn’t fly for BaD, and extra things I might have missed…plus it’s a nice way of saying Randoms II. So let’s get this Grab Bag Week Started!
