PSN Awards
First available as a browser-based Flash game, Auditorium made its way to the PlayStation Network in HD just a few weeks ago. The puzzle game allows players to manipulate the flow of sound waves through the use of a variety of tools in order to produce a song.
While simple in its design, the interaction between the various tools and the feeling of discovery evoked by the game made it an unforgettable title this year. Designed like a soundtrack, each and every new song in the list provided for new tools and interesting ways to utilize old ones. Beautiful minimalist visuals and crisp, memorable songs come together to produce some provocative cues to guide players towards producing the song featured in the given level. Filling repositories, each of which produce a part of the song, can be done by placing each tool in a stationary location or by leveraging the real time nature of the game, and moving a single piece to disperse the sound waves to multiple locations.
Whatever way you choose to solve the many puzzles in the game, you will be constantly challenged by the gameplay, and immersed in the sights and sounds that make up Auditorium HD.
There likely aren't very many people who have never seen or heard of Space Invaders, and with good reason, since The 1978 game helped revolutionize the arcade industry across the globe. In contrast, Space Invaders: Infinity Gene isn't nearly as revolutionary, “evolving” the classic Space Invaders concept from 1978 into modern-day vertical shoot-'em-up. Infinity Gene maintains the classic look and style of the original, but adds in dozens of stages, several unique ships, and even the option to play assault enemy ships in levels based on custom music. Space Invaders: Infinity Gene is more than a full, modern-day shoot-'em-up, but maintains much of the classic feel from the original, and for this, it is PixlBit's PSN Game of the Year Runner-Up.

Potentially yes, but probably not. It depends on something behind-the-scenes that I might push to move forward within the next week. If it goes through, you wouldn't want to help out with the article. If it doesn't get off the ground, though, then I'll see what I can do.
I haven't had the chance to say it, but a big thanks to the whole PixlBit staff in producing these awards. I sprung it on everyone that we were going to be doing them, and everyone voted and produced their write-ups ridiculously fast.
It took me a while to get everything together due to some stuff going on currently in my personal life, so sorry about that. I'll be making an announcement pretty soon letting everyone know exactly what was holding things up on my end.
Also, if anyone has any input for changes for next year's awards, feel free to let us know here or shoot us an email.
I know it is kinda late but I wanted to chime in on the awards.
First of all. Nice format with the color coding the systems at the top of the page. Maybe have a number one for each genre as well as the systems top 2 games like you have here. Like have the last page have Best RPG for all the systems. As well as all the other genres.
On to the awards. There were alot of good games that came out on the Wii this past year. Money was tight for me so I didn't get all the ones I wanted but I did get a few that were listed namely, Monster Hunter Tri, Endless Ocean: Blue World, Tatsunoko vs Capcom and No More Heroes:Desperate Struggle. Got the first two relatively close to the launch of the respective launches while I got the last two about a week ago. Overall very fun games in their own way.
