You don't quite need a super PC to run the next Mass Effect.
Mass Effect 3 comes out on March 6, but it would probably be good to know if your PC can run the game before it's released. Luckily since the technology powering the upcoming game isn't much different from the previous game, PC gamers are getting a forgiving set of specs.
The upcoming demo will showcase these features.
When BioWare announced that Mass Effect 3 would have Kinect functionality, many "hardcore" gamers let out a collective groan. As of now, the Kinect peripheral has yet to provide a solid gaming experience and has only managed to supply fun party games. However, gamers will be able to test out the Kinect functionality with the demo, due out on February 14th, Valentine's Day.
The third iteration of the series will not be released on Steam either.
It seems PC players will have fewer options than normal when it comes to purchasing the upcoming Mass Effect 3. Like other Electronic Arts games released in the past six months or so, Mass Effect 3 will not be sold through Steam. Furthermore, regardless of whether you buy the game in stores or online, the Origin platform will be required to play it.
Could the Online Pass be coming to handhelds in North America?
The PlayStation Vita was recently released in Japan with a North American and European launch coming this February. Since the Japanese launch, the internet has been abuzz with information regarding the hardware and software as it has been released in Japan. While most of the buzz pertains to information that was already well known, Destructoid discovered something not previously publicized about Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational – that the game requires an online pass to play online.

As suspected, North American 3DS Ambassadors can now download the same GBA games that were announced for other regions. Once this batch of GBA games are downloaded, there will be no further freebies given out to those who purchased a 3DS and connected to the eShop prior to August 12, 2011.
