So yesterday, I stumbled across one of the best 404 pages I've seen in years. Behold! The Penny Arcade 404 page:

After finding out that Homelessrook was retired, I thought it would be neat to find out what everyone else does for a living. I don't know why, but I always find this kind of stuff fascinating. Us gamers come from all different walks of life, so careers seem to be all across the board whenever I ask a group.

If this isn't working, I fail as a programmer and by extension, life.

Hopefully the title of the blog gives you enough indication of what this entry is about. In short, I finally completed Dark Souls yesterday. After 65 hours of playtime, I managed to best the final boss of the game and get booted right back to the beginning of the experience for New Game+. Surprisingly enough, I don't feel the great sense of achievement I thought I'd be feeling after besting what's considered one of the toughest games on the market.

I've mentioned it before, but I'll mention it again: I love Coheed & Cambria. They're an amazing band that produces some of the most epic and interesting music I've ever heard. Coincidentally (not really, I'm writing this blog specifically about this), they are releasing a new album double album that's set to release on October 9. The Afterman: Ascension will be the first half, with the second half, The Afterman: Descension releasing February of 2013. They've dropped their first single from this new album and man is it good.

So today's Google Doodle is basically Track & Field from the NES, which means you should be playing it. Preferably at work, competing with co-workers to both waste the most time possible in the office and see who's the greatest. Posted below is my best time after about 3 tries, 11.1 s (3 stars). If you haven't noticed already, I've made some improvements to the search. Instead of the old one where you had to actually search to bring something up, now it's an auto-complete. You should be seeing more relevant results for one and even beyond that, you should be able to refine your search to actually get what you're looking for.

So pagination has always existed, but it's always only let you go one page forward and one page back. That ends now! With the most recent PixlBit code release, I rolled out some initial fixes to the problem. On all of the main menu pages, the site will now provide an additional link to go a couple pages forward or back, as well as to the front and last pages in a single click.

As usual we at PixlBit are working hard to improve the site. As such we've implemented a few new things to improve the usability of the site. The first and most obvious is the cleaner and prettier header bar, courtesy of Vic Roman! The new header does include an advertisement, but hopefully you guys don't mind too much. We're piloting this to see if we can raise some funds for the site going forward.
