As a rule, if I don't buy a game when it releases it's usually because of lack of interest and I suspect I probably wont enjoy it, thus my catching up with past games is somewhat of a mediocre experience. Once again, just as with The Surge, I don't like Dying Light, yet I can't stop playing either of them. Unlike The Surge, which has a smaller, tight, more claustrophobic level design, Dying Light is an open world that lets you wander around a large map and progress at your own pace, like Skyrim, or whatever other open world game with markers and fetch quests level design. What's keeping me playing is the atmosphere and survival simulation. Its already getting a bit repetative early on, but maybe things will get more intereting if I keep poking at it. I like Resident Evil and horror games, so it has that going for it. We'll see...
