Well, they're not quite wearing pastels and putting flowers on their drums, but if The Sword started doing it, I wouldn't really question it, just assume they got really stoned and decided to focus on that other part of the seventies for an album.
I think I've said this before in one of your blogs with them in it, but Evile sounds a lot like Slayer to me.
