The only Black Friday deal I cared about.

Great game. I would have bought it too if I didn't already have the game digitally.

I took advantage of Amazon deals to get The Last of Us, Beyond Two Souls, and Arkham Origins, all almost half off. I also ordered a 3DS XL with the new Zelda for about $50 off from Target

Why Ace Attorney Works and Beyond Does Not

I think you have the wrong idea about Journey.  Personally, I enjoy games of all types, from the most interactive to the least.  But Journey is absolutely nothing like Heavy Rain, Beyond Two Souls, Ace Attorney, etc.  It's purely interactive.

That's not to say you might still not like it. There are plenty of people that don't enjoy it.  I liked it, but didn't think it was nearly as great as some others did.

Ben versus Felicia Day (Star-trek rant)

I just read her blog and found it extremely tame and extremely non-confrontational.  Just because she's famous doesn't mean she can't voice her opinion on the interenet like everyone else, and I happen to agree with her.  I can see why some nice people get offended at the way some confrontational feminists act, but I don't see that blog as an example of that at all.

I also agree with most of the posts here about the Carol scene.  Personally, I dont' mind it but found it kind of pointless.  But did that blog even mention it at all? It referes to the fact that her character's most important attribute seems to be that she is attractive, but as far as I could tell it didn't focus on that scene at all. (Of course, I might have missed it)

Update: Lots of reading, lots of gaming

I need Super Mario 3D World too!  I was going to wait a little while until I finished some other games, but was too excited about it so I went to the Best Buy near my work today at lunch but they were sold out. On the way home I stopped at another best buy and then a Target, and they were both sold out too. It sucks!

Software Sells the System. What For PS4?

I don't think there was a single game that made me buy a ps3, I just wanted a next-gen platform and just stuck with Sony since I never had an original x-box.

The only time I bought a console due to a "I must have this!!" game was the original playstation. It was my first year in college and I wasn't as into gaming as I used to be, but when I went home for a break (Christmas, i think) one of my friends had the first Tony Hawk game. I spent much of the break playing the game at his house, waiting in line with all the others who wanted too play it too. When I went back to college I couldn't stop thinking about it and went out and bought a playstation, along with Tony Hawk Pro Skater.  It became a huge hit in my dorm, and people would often come play it in my room, even in the middle of the night while I was trying to sleep.

Waiting impatiently for my $20 from PSN

That's good to know.  At the time, I found where a couple people asked that question but wasn't able to find any replies to it.

Waiting impatiently for my $20 from PSN

Posted on 11/07/2013 at 03:02 PM | Filed Under Blogs

I'm waiting too, although I'm not sure if I'll get $30 or $40.  I renewed my PSN and spent another $150 on games.  The problem is that I'm still unsure if that last $50 I spent counted or not. They advertised the sale to be through October 29th (which was also the first day of the "sale of the dead"), but on October 29th I noticed that they quit advertising the $10 back deal. I couldn't find anywhere on the internet that stated if money spent on Oct 29th counted or if "through Oct 29" actually meant that it was over starting that day.

Regardless, I don't really have any idea what I'll spend my money on yet.  I bought every single classic and indie game I wanted during that deal, and I prefer having physical copies of the bigger, newer games.  I'm sure I'll find something though.

A Wolf Among Us: Episode 1

I'm definitely go to play this at some point, so I'm glad to hear you like it.  I've enjoyed all of Telltale's adventure games so far, Walking Dead most of all.  I might wait until all the episodes are out so I can play through them all at once though.

Help me grow my backlog! (seriously)

You've already listed most of the exclusives that I would recommend for PS3, but there's a few more you might want to check out.

Journey Collector's Edition is worth a shot.  I wasn't quite as in to Journey and Flower as some were, but I had a good time with both.  I haven't played Flow (i bought the other two by themselves when they first came out), but I've also heard good things about it.

There's a few other PSN-exclusive games (I think) that I would also recommend giving a chance.  Dead Nation is a top-down shooter (like super smash tv) that was surprisingly fun.  I also enjoyed The Unfinished Swan and Papo & Yo.

Heavy Rain is another exclusive worth a look.  It gets alot of criticism for being a bunch of quick time events, but I enjoyed it for what it was.

Although I never really got that into it (the controls are too floaty), alot of people love Little Big Planet and it is very charming.

Okami HD, Walking Dead on sale on PSN

Posted on 10/22/2013 at 03:22 PM | Filed Under Blogs

I just got Okami a few days ago when I noticed the sale.  And even better, it's only $6.99 if you have PS+.  Unless of course that that changed today, which I guess it might have since they change the PSN deals on Tuesdays.

I haven't started it yet but I've been wanting to play it for a long time, so I'm excited about it.
