Is Video Screams a compilation VHS? It seems so by the description.
Well, I can see your picture at the podium.
I've been mostly in a state of recovering from a virus too. Atleast i'm not outright sick, but i'm not fully recovered and I have a buzz in my left ear due to snot interfering my hear. Hopefully the medicine I have will help me.
The jokes on me because of Blake pretending to be a troll user, where not only I believed him but even did a wall of text worthy of you and Michael where I defended indie games. Once mothman discovered that gaf4life was Blake, I was in a state of shock....
Hehe, I was also scared of the dragons from Adventure.
Blake you magnificent bastard. Not only I believed you were another person, but I even thought you were dead serious which made me write that wall of text defending indie games. To put it simple, it was the best April Fool's joke where I was actually fooled.
....... MY WALL OF TEXT WAS FOR NOTHING!!!!
I did heard of Honest Trailer, but I haven't seen any of their videos. I may watch those later and give my opinion.
Let me give you my feedback on your thoughts.
"thought we moved past the snes era, so why all games gotta look like that? doesnt make sense. we have awesome graphics in games like battlefield yet games look like fucking minecraft. its stupid"
First, you are generalizing that every single indie game resembles the look of 16-bit videogames or look like Minecraft when there's indie games like Limbo, Braid or Dust: An Elysian Tail that while in 2D, they don't use pixelated graphics (Dust for example has hand drawn backgrounds and animations). Sure, some games like Super Meat Boy, Cave Story or Fez do have graphics that resemble 16-bit videogames, but those are stylistic choices and if the creators feel like they fit the game, why not? Besides, the technology in pixels has advanced considerably that now pixel art can look better than in the 16-bit era. As for Minecraft, not every indie 3D game looks like that. Ever heard of Amnesia: The Dark Descent or Psychonauts? Those two are indie, but don't look like Minecraft in any way. Besides, not every game has to look like Battlefield and there's also the fact that since most of these indie developers are you know, independent, they don't have the support of a big company like EA, so they have to make what they can with the budget they have.
"realistically, gameplay has improved so much, now we can see real people and fight and drive realistically so we gotta look like shit? braid looks shit. limbo looks shit. and they are shit games. so fucking boring. worst game i played the other day was this game called journey. fucking terrible. all you do is walk and shit. p[eopel keep saying its like the best game ever, but its fucking boring"
Do you know about subjectivity? What for other is bad for the other is good? Look, first, not every indie developer has the budget to do realistic things and not every single game has to be realistic, and that's okay. They bring variety for those who are tired or want to rest from triple A games or want to experience games in a different way. Another thing is that those games you find "boring" and "shit" work the other way around for others who may find the game "great" or "incredible". Like I mentioned before, it's all about subjectivity.
"shit needs to happen in my games. we need a good story like uncharted or resident evil, not this pretentious fake art shit. games arent art, theyre like movies: fun. so let me have fun. is it that hard?"
Again, subjectivity. What for some is "fake art shit", for others is the contrary and you know, like this kinds of things and some find indie games "gasp" fun (which is also something subjective). Without getting into the argument that "games are art", I would like to mention that cinema have always been considered an art form, not just recently but extending back to even the 1900s. Just saying.
"all you indie fags: get a new job, you suck"
Because insulting people that like indie games will make people look at you with respect....
Look, I don't mind if you don't like indie games, people dislike stuff that others like, and that's fine, but you are coming off as some one who might as well be saying "the thing you like and I don't suck and you should feel bad, period". Besides, I think you are judging indie games from just a few examples and that every single one is "fake art shit", when there's games like this. It seems you have a narrow definition of indie, because it doesn't mean "art" but it comes from independent, which when it comes to games, it's a game made without the help of a big company or isn't affiliated to said big company.
Just to finish this off and repeat it again, it's fine that you don't like indie games. What is not fine is insulting people for things they like.
Glad you got Halo 2. That game is a masterpiece, though I recommend to start with the first game so you don't get confused about the story.
Well, i'm one who welcomes GBA games on the Wii U and either way, I want to play again GBA games since I don't have my GBA anymore.
