I heard there's a movie coming. Not sure how that's going to work, but the book was good.

I'll put it on my list.
I've tried other RTS games on 360. LOTR: Battle for Middle Earth II and others, but Halo Wars worked the best. It's Ensemble, Age of Empires, enough said.
The second one too. I tried the demo and got stuck. IN THE DEMO!
Further reading has revealed that I probably contracted Vampirism in a quest I did last week where I had to kill some vampires as a Mage and didn't realize I'd got it. Three days later, when I went to sleep at the Arcane University, I became a full blown Vampire and had a dream about being burried alive (I miss-remembered the dream above). Apparently it takes 3 days for the disease to become permanent.
Once before, when I was in the Fighter's Guild, I had gotten the disease and noticed it. So I drank a Cure Disease potion right away. You can cure Vampirism like that if you catch it early.
I found American Gods interesting but really confusing. I think the plot needed some pruning and a little more focus. It seemed to ramble along. Wander. Maybe that's part of it though. The main character was a little lost himself, being manipulated by all the different Gods.
My favorite thing of his was that Marvel 1602 comic series. So good and the cover art by Scott McKowen was to die for.
Oh, I forgot. The first thing I saw of Neil's was the Stardust movie. That was a good one.
Yea, I'm not pushing it too hard to finish fast. I feel that playing EOU on Picnic difficulty is watering down the experience for me a little bit. I wonder sometimes if I shouldn't just crank it up and just see how far I get.
For games I really like, I usually just play on the default setting to get the developer intended experience, and then when I go for achievements/trophies, I do whatever it takes to get to the goal as fast as possible. Both approaches have their merits.
When I started EOU I was just in the mood for a more casual experience. The last couple of hardcore RPGs I played lasted only a few hours because the difficulty killed off my party (Dragon Fantasy Book I and Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls). I didn't feel like replaying them once I'd lost my beloved party.
I stumbled into Gamestop on Saturday and got enlightened as to the buy-2-get-1 sale. Then I went to three different Gamestops and picked up 9 games.
Gears of War 3 is fantastic. My friend and I played it nonstop (mostly Horde mode, but also the campaign in co-op) for like three months before I had to pull myself away or I would still be playing it.
James makes just those points in both reviews. Alien is more psychological and Aliens is more about action. Each review is less than 15 minutes. Perfect length, I think. His Aliens review is so great the way he weaves in the video game connection. As soon as I saw it, I felt I had to do a blog and share it. It's not on youtube yet though, so I couldn't put the video on the blog page.
I do that with so many games and it frustrates me to no end. I want games to be shorter so I can say I finished them. This is why I've been choosing easy mode and looking up speed runs for games lately to try and ensure I get to the end. It's like picking up a book and stopping half way through. How can I talk about a book having not finished it? Same with a game.
