Diversity lounges: Good idea or segregation re-packaged?

Posted on 12/31/2013 at 01:34 PM | Filed Under Blogs

It's events like these that make me wonder if we are just going the wrong way when it comes to human interaction. It was like when I learned that was a CON called Gaymer that was suppose to cater to the gay/lesbian communites that felt unwelcome at other gamer cons.

If we have to focus too much on the differences of others for fear of offending their tender sensiblties then I fear we are missing the point entirely on human intergration.

Just think of it has having an "old soul" about you.

Also I hope you didn't do anything I wouldn't do for your birthday celebrations.

and if you did, don't name it after me! HA!

I wish they'd release a patch for XBLA/PSN Sonic 2 so we could get to play the originally cut level "hidden Palace" zone from the original game. Why do iOS gamers get that and the Sonc 2 on consoles gets nothing :(

Steam, System Requirements, Arkham Asylum

And that's one of the reasons why I didn't get into PC gaming. No garentee that any game bought on there will work right off the bat with the PC I currently have. At least with a console you get a 50/50 chance of the game running properly (I know not good odds but with day one patches, release bugs and future patches are a thing of reality sadly with us console gamers.)

But with that said I'm giving it some serious thought about trying out PC gaming on Steam. I have a STeam account and just yesterday I got my free copy of Left 4 Dead 2 for my account. I just really need to see about upgrading my desktop PC's memory for I'm not sure if my netbook has the power to run some of the games offered on there.

sounds like Zelda is a winner. thinking about getting that game for my bro as a late Xmas gift since I've learned he now owns a 3DS.

Gamer rule #345: There is no such thing as too many games. Just because you have yet to play them doesn't mean you will eventually. I too plan to go game shopping in a couple of days with some of the SXmas money I got. I'm also thinking about getting Mass Effect finally even though I'm not getting too much into it with the first game.

but, but, but these companies NEED our hard earned cash to make more awesome games! Why can't you open your heart and pay the price for the same game. You know they need the money or your purchase could spell doom and closure of this struggling game company. have you no heart? have you no soul? You should feel bad for these poor pitiful game companies losing money hand over first to pirates and used game sales. I'd glady throw away give my money to them even if it's practually the same game on a last gen console. So long as they stay afloat I knwo I've done my chariable duty......

Wow. this video was actually done very well. Very smart and it made a lot of good points. It was informative, intelligently done and geunueilly funny in some areas while not making it sound to pointed. This is a PBS series you say? i need to check this out. It's even better than Play Value.

Indie Game: The Movie

Posted on 12/20/2013 at 03:34 PM | Filed Under Blogs

I remember this movie now! I thought about watching it too on Netflix but when I saw it was about the creators behind games that most now use as examples of "games as art" debate I quickly lost interest. It reminded me of thos independant films that showed up and coming artist being all pretensious snooty about despite their success, no one couldn't understand them or their true meaning of their work.
