Dogfight - Snoopy and the Red Baron

Posted on 04/13/2019 at 03:59 PM | Filed Under Blogs

Snoopy vs. the Red Baron was a PS2 game published by Namco.  It was like Ace Combat for kids and was very fun.  The people who developed the PS2 game made a game called Snoopy Flying Ace, which was pretty much the same game but online play oriented.  Both games are good, but I prefer the PS2 game because I'm not good enough at flight combat games to compete online.

Yeah I've played and reviewed both Snoopy vs. the Red Baron (PS2), and Snoopy Flying Ace (360).  I prefer the single player nature of the PS2 game because I'm not good enough at flight games to compete online.  There's also a Snoopy vs. the Red Baron Christmas song, too!

Ha ha!  This wasn't exactly the Snoopy game I was referring to.  The one I was talking about was on the PS2. :)

Yeah I remember the days when movie licensed games would make everyone groan.

Is there an Overwatch cartoon?  Why would LEGO go well with Fruity Pebbles?  I'm not tech savvy enough to hack and mod my headphones.  I just stick them in my ears and that's all I know!

Crash Landing - Microsoft Flight Simulator 4.0

I think my dad played one of these a long time ago.  Some of my brothers like the more arcade flight sims, like Ace Combat.  The closest thing I ever got into a flight sim was Snoopy vs. the Red Baron, which is actually a pretty good game.

Innocent Victim! - Lethal Enforcers

Another Konami series is called Parodius, which is a silly spin off of the Gradius series.  Anyway, one of the Parodius games has stages making reference to other Konami games.  There is a DDR stage, a Goemon stage, a Twinbee level, and even a Tokimeki Memorial level (that's a Japan only dating game).  Anyway, the 'speed' stage in that particular Parodius game is based on Lethal Enforcers!  You even have to avoid recticules with guns in the foreground that shoot you from time to time!

On an unrelated note, I ate so much food at this Italian restaurant I went to tonight.  I had chicken cordon bleu, a plate of pasta, a salad, and a bowl of breadsticks.  My belly looks like I swallowed a basketball! I'm stuffed!

Retro Review: Soul Blazer

When I was younger and had my SNES for about a year, that Christmas I got two games for it: Super Mario Kart and Soul Blazer.  I was initially disappointed at first that Soul Blazer wasn't more like ActRaiser, especially in the music department.  But I quickly grew to enjoy Soul Blazer for what it was.  They don't make games like that much anymore.  I wish I could've played the other games in the trilogy.  But by the time that Illusion of Gaia came out, I was a poor college student and couldn't afford to buy very many games.  And us US gamers never got Terranigma, which is a bummer.

I liked my SNES Classic Edition so much I named it my Game of the Year in 2017!

I got Yoshi's Crafted World, too.  It's so adorable.  I think I still like Yoshi's Woolly World better, but Crafted World is still a lot of fun.

I love Super Princess Peach!  I wish it got more recognition than it did.  It was made by TOSE, who also did the Starfy games.  TOSE also programmed a BUNCH of other games behind the scenes.  You should check out a list of everything they've done.  It's pretty amazing.
