Haven't heard much, but I do like some of Eminem and it's just recently I have discovered that MCR are not really Emo. I mean, the song you put as example sounded a bit like what would happen if The Wall was Punk instead of the Emo Rock of bands like Simple Plan. I used to be an MCR fan back when I was getting into Rock, but kinda lost track of them after they did the Desolation Row cover for Watchmen. Wouldn't mind to get back to them.
As far as bands that get more hate than they deserve, I have Avenged Sevenfold, Slipknot, Nickelback (generic, but not terrible), Linkin Park and I guess a lot of Alternative Metal and Metalcore really.

As for Batman/Superman, I don't know much information, so I can't comment on that. I'll keep my hype low, even if I did really liked DKR and Man of Steel.

I'm pretty excited to see how Watch_Dogs and GTAV turn out as i'm very interested in playing them. Same for Sonic: Lost World, Super Mario 3D World and Wind Waker HD.

Wii:
1. Super Smash Bros. Brawl: Lots of replay value and LOTS of things to unlock.
2. Metroid Prime Trilogy: Also long and very inmersive.
3. Monster Hunter Tri: Would make me want to play the game more..... and it's also pretty long and complex.

Ugh, Celebrity Gossip. I don't know if its worse than yellow journalism, but both are crap anyway.
Since you mentioned George R.R. Martin, i'm just going to say that i'm aproaching the half of A Clash of Kings and i'm starting to see Martin's reputation as a character killer.

It took a few listens, but now My God is The Sun is of my current favorite songs of 2013, which it isn't a surprise since I love QOTSA. Same with Came Back Haunted.
As for the rest, really great songs. I specially liked the ones of Riverside, Karnivool and Cynic.
Also, speaking of returns, have you heard Pixies latest song, Bagboy? It's fantastic!
