The Death Of Console Gaming? I think not.......

Posted on 03/01/2013 at 09:35 PM | Filed Under Blogs

Definitely not the death of console gaming, Celt! However I have been contemplating becoming a pc gamer. Not because I have a vendetta against consoles or anything, it's just nice to be able to customize something. (Believe me, if I had the money to get a PS4 and pc I'd get them both but when people are on a limited budget they have to choose.)

However, I'm not 100% sure just yet. My mind is malleable and can change!

Playstation Portable (PSP)

I've thought about getting a psp myself but something else always came up to demand my money. (sniffle)

I still want to plat Parasite Eve: 3rd Birthday. Certain people say it's an abomination but it simply looks so darn fun! (I'm also a Parasite Eve fanboy)

You're safe with me, Ash. I know you have a BF and I have no desire to disrupt happy relationships in progress. lol. Incidentally other female friends of mine have been insulted via being called prepubescent boys as well. Guess that's a common one.

I also agree insulting someone based on their gaming tastes is kind of low. (However, I have been guilty of making snide remarks towards the gamers who only play COD & Madden. It was a moment of weakness, I swear!)

Gamer's With Suits: The Playstation 4 Effect

Posted on 03/01/2013 at 09:03 PM | Filed Under Blogs

It's potentially good that games ported onto the PS4 will not have the problems they did on the PS3. (Probably because the PS4 is more pc-centric when it comes to programming language) I really hope that "used games" are allowed to stay. I've read blurbs of supposed PS4 spokespeople reassuring gamers playing used games will not be a problem yet the nasty rumors of a "used game crack down" are still circulating as well.

I'm hoping Bioware brings back Dragonage in a big way. Cross your fingers!

Don't feel bad, bro. I wasn't able to reply much today either because two friends paid me a visit and were gracious enough to take me and my bud Alex out to eat. Life happens, aye?

Pixlbit also handles things a tad differently so it's like we don't have our land-legs back yet! Adaptability takes time!

Lunar

I'd love to see a new Lunar game. However, it is kind of difficult to embrace the past and embrace the future without making the mistakes associated with either of those approaches. There was something "magical" about the first two games that's almost impossible to put in a bottle.

Regardless, thanks for paying tribute to one of my favorite old school rpgs of all time, Jesse! (It's just a shame I didn't play Lunar Silver Star Story and Lunar Eternal Blue until I got them on playstation. Growing up I was that kid who had an snes but not a genesis!)

Ah, coke bottle glasses and braces are fine by me,Jamie. If every woman looked the same my life would have no luster at all!

But I get what you're saying about the "car dealership ploy". Suddenly we started to see the attempt to push gaming into the mainstream with handsome hipster nerds and super model bombshells. On one hand, some of those aforementioned people probably are sincere. Just because someone is physically appealing it doesn't automatically make them "fake". However, there have been "fakers" so this creates an ugly scenario where gamers and geeks are asked to prove their credentials more often. (And females get this pushed onto them more harshly than we do I think.)

Regardless, thank you ever so much for reading Jamie! You're the man, sir!

You're probably right Chris, thanks for clarifying. lol. In my college days I did know quite a few college girls who were "educated" but not exactly deep or smart. There is a big difference there. Luckily in college I also got to know many females who were in fact deep & smart so at least that balanced out to a degree!
