Hello 2017, I'm On Hold So I Wrote This

If you ever decide to upgrade, I get unlimited everything except data ( which I have lowest tier of, but it doesn't vreally matter since wifi isn't part of the charge and 4G hasn't dropped me while out and about yet) for $30/mo with Virgin Mobile.

I say that half thinking you're limited with what you can get in your area, but wanted to mention it in case.

I hate automated systems too. I always have a simple question that can be answered by a human in a couple seconds, but is never mentioned in the automated bits.

What makes LEGO MOVIE a lesser lego game? According to reviews, I guess I hit the LEGO jackpot with Marvel Superheroes, but as far as I can tell from videos these are all roughly the same game with different skins? Is it how much content is in each that separates better from worse?

Yeah, that's why I'm not sure about FFXV. I was excited for a FF game whose gameplay I could get into, but found the action combat a bit repetitive in the Platinum demo. I think you can put combat in "wait mode" or something though.

I liked Limbo, but not enough to pay $20 for a similar looking game. From all accounts, it's my loss, but I am looking forward to Into the Woods this month. Just remembered seeing a gameranx video where that was a most anticipated of Jan 2017.

Thank God for Jim Sterling, and Open World BS.

I don't find it hard to navigate or think it needs a patch, there's just a lot in it. It's not a design flaw to me, just that as a gamer I prefer simpler upgrade systems a la Arkham games. I don't really have an interest in taking a potions class to figure out what's best to do with all the millions of plants I can somehow carry.

While I agree with most of that video, there is an argument to be made that those of us who enjoy linearity (me) can still technically get what we want in some of these games. I might do some side quests in ME Catalyst now, but I completely ignored them in favor of story levels for several hours straight. I usually consider myself done with a game once the story is over, open world or no and the open world aspect doesn't usually hinder that for me.

Having said that, I'm much more interested in side quests in something like GTA V or Witcher III that have their own stories than I am in collecting trinkets like the one he discusses.

Thank God for Jim Sterling, and Open World BS.

With Witcher III, I'm fine with the open world stuff; what overwhelms me is the inventory. I'm fine with upgrade systems, but there's just so much to take into account. Every time I hit pause it's like opening an encyclopedia.

I Found a Box!

It would be heresy for there to be no boxes in a MGS game! Shame on 4 if that's the case!

I got TLG as a Christmas gift and it's damn pretty. I haven't played it as much just cause I've been playing through some games I bought on sale.

I'm trying to think of indie titles and RPGs that might suit your taste. I don't know how you feel about FFXV and Inside had gotten some good reviews. I bought Witcher III on sale a while ago, and you may enjoy the Polish lore in that, but I'm not sure about the action- based combat. I uninstalled it to make room for stuff I can get through more quickly like Shadow of Mordor, but I plan to go back; same with Bloodborne.

Weird about Netflix, I don't remember having to do that to get it working. Only annoying thing about video apps is Sony sending emails about "purchases" for $0.

I average about 7-8 games per console cycle and several are always gifts, but the freebies and deals with PS+ have made my library exponentially larger than usual. I understand not wanting it though.

I may pick up R&C soon since it is just $20.

I remember playing Injustice on iPad before buying console version, but I definitely liked console better/played it more.

My physical collection is a lot less impressive.

My digital collection half the time makes me wonder when and why I bought all those games!
