Blake's Thoughts on the New Arrested Development.

Posted on 06/15/2013 at 10:56 PM | Filed Under Blogs

I've watched up to I believe episode 11 so far, and I really didn't get to enjoying until the latest episode I watched. That was the episode that focused on Gob and Tony Wonder, hilarious start to finish. Other than that though it only brought me a few laughs. I agree the first few episodes were the worst, other stuff is not working for me like Tobias, who I thought was the funniest character until this season. Still, I will gladly watch another season if they decide to do it.

Favorites of E3

The Division flew under my radar so I checked it out and you are right that looks really great. The Tom Clancy brand doesn't exactly inspire confidence as much as it use to, but hey, it sells copies. The Division actually seems to use its MMO elements even better than Destiny at this point.

My top five favorites of E3 would probably be MGSV (#1), FFXV, Destiny, Mirror's Edge 2, and now, the Division.

At this point I would be surprised to see Square-Enix announce Lightning Strikes Again: Final Fantasy XIII!

Games: A Concept, What?!

I think the Bouncer might have just been derided so much because Square fans were probably expecting an ambitious RPG and not a beat-em-up. Again, I haven't played it, but videos make it seem alright. If anything it at least seems worth a good laugh.

I too want the Killer Instinct franchise to succeed and continue. It's a shame MS sat on the licence for a decade before finally deciding to do something with it on I console I want nothing to do with!

On a related note, the game is made by Double Helix Games a studio with an grab bag of questionable titles. None of them seem to be fighting games. I by chance just played Front Mission Evolved two days ago. It's not bad so far. But yeah, I guess the more I look into it the less awesome Killer Instinct is going to seem.

Definitely the PS4 price was one of the highlights. After being blown away by MGS5 and FFXV, I never stopped thinking "Sure would be nice if I could play this on its release" until that low price point was announced!

My Top 10 Games of E3

With the exception of Pokemon, my Top 5 would be similar to yours, with the order switched around. And I actually never stumbled into that trailer of X until you posted it. Very few sites seem to be giving that one coverage.

I also read a news story not too long ago confirming Mirror's Edge 2 will be more action-focused. That's somewhat troubling, but I'm too happy the game is being made to really care right now.

Xbox One: The Embodiment of the American Dream

This actually is a point that I haven't seen raised anywhere else. Many others have focused on how the console is anti-used games. That said, it is absolutely true that MS is treating everyone like a potential pirate. Even if these policies are changed, I can't see myself supporting some one who even considered such a distorted view of its customers.

I can tell you one area where Microsoft actually thought really hard about what they were doing with the Xbox One. They thought of basically everyway to exploit and wring every penny out of the consumer. None of the so-called features actually add to the game experience. Even the mandatory Kinect, I can assume, is the sole excuse that this "console" is priced higher than the PS4.

There's only so much exploiting you can get away with until the consumer can smell a rat. And boy is that stench strong with the Xbox One.

I think I get it.

Yeah, I used to use Kotaku until I found a much better gaming news site. With the updates being twice as long as the article itself, that article alone demonstrates how their articles are often just grasping for straws.

Next-Gen is Not Looking Half Bad!

I suppose anything could happen before launch. Even with how close the consoles are about to come out, we still know so little about them. Though unlikely, it would be nice if Microsoft pulled back it's restrictions on the Xbox One.
