I spent most of Saturday at work, juggling regular duties and cleaning up after two games: pee-wee and a make-up senior varsity game. I was told the pee-wee game was the last of the season and I truly hope so. If there's anything that's ruined my weekends for the past 2 months, its those fucking pee-wee games. Granted, they don't make as big a mess as the crowds for the 7th, Junior and Senior games but they still provide a measly excuse to drag my ass up there. I'd rather finish everything on Friday.
Recently finished Resident Evil 6. Contrary to what long time RE fans may feel, I don't think it's major flaws are in concept, theme, content, or genre, but in execution. Game sports a too-narrow field of view which has been increasingly unpleasant since 4. The camera is in tighter to your character's side-rear than ever, cutting off your left field of vision, which feels highly unnatural, unintuitive and claustrophobic. It feels like I'm wearing a blinder on the left or right side of my face (you can switch weapon grip, which switches camera axis). I constantly have to be shifting the camera to see obstacles and threats that would be well within your immediate field of view in other games or in real life. The fact that even low level enemies can now launch themselves at you from any direction means a first time player is in for some cheap hits, no matter how careful they play.
Happy Monday everyone! It's my lunch break, so I thought I'd go ahead and do my post along with the music for the day. Today's D&B song is "Passing Time" by Lynx & Hellrazor. I'm not super familiar with Lynx's music outside of a couple of tracks on an old mix album, but from what I have heard from him, his music tends to lean on the downtempo side, with a touch of melencholy to go along with it. "Passing Time" is a rather nice melody I discovered on the Fabriclive 68 mix album (mixed by Calibre...great album to check out). I love the way the piano chords were used to good effect.
Hey Pixlbit, Happy Monday! Everyone have a good weekend? Anything cool happen? I spent the weekend playing The Lego Movie: Videogame, watching the Olympics, and snuck in a nap. This is a new week, which mean more Blog A Day from yours truly. For this week I thought I would showcase another one of my interests…Music! More specifically, what’s on my iPod. So this week it’s What’s On My iPod or WOMiP. I tend to keep favorite songs, new stuff, podcasts, and audiobooks on there but I want to talk about certain playlists, and other fun stuff. Sound good? Cool, so to start off WOMiP week let’s talk about the actual setup
