I hate when real life puts a crimp in my gaming. Or my blogging about games. Anyway, I have been fitting a little gaming in among the RLIs (Real Life Interruptions).

Sorry about the gap in coverage. Been busy with work, and then the dog got sick. But I'm back now! This entry is all over the place, I don't have the time and energy to spend doing a themed entry, so it's pretty much just going to be songs I really like from a variety of artists I like (or liked their versions of the song).

This will be short, as I'm not much in the mood for gaming, blogging, or other pursuits right now. My dog Bandit is either really sick from a vaccine he got, or somehow in the 24 hours after he had his annual vet visit he managed to injure himself (without my knowing it) so badly that he can hardly walk. I'm really worried about him and too broke to seek a 2nd opinion right away. The initial vet visit cost me a week's pay and then some. So keep me and Bandit in your thoughts. Thanks, and I'll hopefully be back soon with some news.

Wow, it's been a while since I checked in! Sorry I haven't been reading and commenting, but things have been busy here. I should be around a bit more now that our annual birdwatching festival is over and our next crew member on board starts on Sunday.

Recently, Leeradical42 wrote a blog about some pirate game that I will look up later and it reminded me of an old game I played on the Apple IIe back in college. I worked in the Learning Resource Center as a peer tutor and pulled a six hour shift on one of the weekend nights, I think it may have been Sunday. Sometimes the LRC was busy that night (midterms, finals, etc), but more often than not it was dead. My friend Ed took pity on me and gave me box of 5 1/4" floppy disks of games. I had Risk, some arcadey sorts of games, and Taipan, which is what the Pirate game reminded me of.
