Well hey there, Pixlbit Nation! Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I started my winter job last Sunday with a three hour orientation, followed by several (non-consecutive) days of training. I'm working at the local independent grocery store, which is family-owned-and-operated. Bow Street Market is much more like an old-fashioned market than a supermarket. I'm cashiering, nothing glamorous, but the pay is decent, the training is excellent, and the atmosphere at the store is very friendly and team-oriented. And the checkout lanes are in front of giant windows, so I get to see the sun. The store is also very safety-conscious, and gave me $20 cash when I showed them my new slip-resistant footwear, proof that they were slip-resistant, and the receipt. So I got a good pair of shoes for $10 out of pocket. The store is also very community-oriented, which I also like.

I was down to around 25 free GB on my 360, and since I've been grabbing a lot of free games from Games with Gold, I decided it was time for a bigger hard drive. Got a 320 GB off Amazon for $44 and FedEx just delivered it. Now comes the fun part of transferring everything. The data cable I bought was used and didn't come with the utility disc, but I read somewhere that I don't need it. Hope that's the case.

Happy October, Pixlbit Nation! Today is a beautiful, sunny, cool day and I am revelling in cooler temperatures. Part of me is feeling a little guilty for not doing something outside, but the part of me that is recovering from the cold from hell just bitch-slapped the guilty part. My park job is done for the year, I'll start again at the beginning of April. In the meantime, I got a job at the local independent grocery store where I do most of my grocery shopping. Orientation is Sunday.

I cut my finger badly on the sheet metal vent cap I was installing on the outhouse vent pipe today, so I apologize in advance for any typos. It was serious enough to require medical attention, but not so serious that I needed stitches, my doctor glued the edges together and back I went to work to spend the rest of the day filling out workers comp forms.
