Good morning Pixlbit Nation, how are you on this fine Thursday morning? It is a cool 45 degrees here in sunny Southern California, and while I am enjoying a nice donut, I thought it was about time I talk about my absolute favorite console that I own, the Playstation 2. Let’s take a trip back to when I bought my Playstation 2. It was a year or so after it’s release (remember when everyone was hoarding them and trying to resell them on eBay?) Well I waited because I didn’t want to spend the crazy cash for it, and I was deciding on which console to buy, the X-Box, or the PS2. I loved the Playstation brand but I was willing to try something new, but it all came down to one thing: which one will play DVDs. See before this I had a DVD player but my brother moved into his own spot and I gave him my DVD player and watching on a computer monitor wasn’t the most ideal thing. The X-Box needed a separate remote in order to play DVDs and the PS2 not so much, so after class I went down to the local Walmart and bought a PS2. The first game I played on my new PS2? Madden 2002…for the original Playstation. Yeah I didn’t buy a PS2 game until the next week.

Pixlbit what day is it? Yeah sorry I really do like that commercial. Anyways yesterday I went over my love for the PSP and today I figured we keep it with the handhelds and talk about my first new handheld, the Sega Game Gear. I think I got my Sega Game Gear right around the time of my 7^th or 8^th grade year for my birthday. I didn’t know much about Sega because at the time we were a Nintendo house, but when everyone had the Gameboy I wanted the one with a color screen and single handedly kept Duracell in business (that thing ate batteries). I had that handheld going from 7^th or 8^th grade all the way up to my freshman year of college when I didn’t have a TV yet so at night before I went to sleep I would play a game or two Madden. I had maybe 6 or 7 games total on the handheld. For a long while this was my favorite handheld. I bought a couple of different cases (the official Sega one was crap, so I went with a padded Case Logic or something similar), and thanks to Walmart’s Clearance endcap I bought a 3^rd party battery pack that screwed into the back of the handheld. This was better than the Official battery.

Pixlbit Army I know Tuesday can’t hold you back, how are you good people doing? For you East Coasters continue to stay warm. Currently it is a nice 46 degrees here in abnormally warm Sunny Southern California, and today I continue with my Game Library. For today I want to write about my favorite handheld ever, the Playstation Portable. There was a lot of hate towards the Playstation, but I felt it was an awesome handheld that could a number of things, kind of like the preview to the tablets and smart phones we have today. Yes I know Microsoft had a tablet around the same time but seriously who bought that thing? The PSP was my all in one media device, it played games, it played mp3s (this was before my mini-disc and phone that played mp3s), it could play movies…if you converted them to whatever proprietary Sony format, and it could go online. The online portion was rough, like 56k rough. All it was missing was that connecting sound.

Well Happy Monday Pixlbit! I hope you all had a good weekend and for many folks are in Day 3 of their 3 Day Weekend. Blog a Day is back on and I am here to let you good people know two more games came off Mount Backlog last week, and I am currently working on another, which hopefully I will finish either today or tomorrow. How are you good people? Anything fun, or exciting happen this past weekend? After we last spoke I went to the local fair and did my usual of walking around looking at all the exhibits, looking for the mythical vendor who sold trading cards for super cheap (I decided against buying $1 cards last year for some crazy reason), eat some bad fried fair food on a stick, and I threw in a new thing I wanted to do this year, ride a camel. Yes the animal with a hump that likes to spit. I figured why not, the last time I rode one was when I was in like 4^th grade, so let’s do it again.

Pixlbiticans how have you been since we last spoke all of 24 hours ago. In a couple of hours from now I will be dining on authentic Fair food for lunch. Yes crazy items that are either stuck on a stick, deep-fried, and maybe both will be enjoyed. Because of this last night I decided to go back to the Gym before I did my walk. I’d like to blame my return to the gym on being sucked into the Arrow TV Universe where the women are pretty and the men apparently work out 12 hours a day. Oh yeah crazy body shaming (I type this while eating leftover popcorn from last night. Breakfast of Champions.) Currently the arms are hurting and today will be leg day. It is Quick Hits day, Friday the 13^th, and the day before Valentine’s Day so Happy Pre Love/Friday the 13^th Day! Let’s get started with another Quick Hits!

Yesterday I went over my original X-Box games and it make sense to continue with Microsoft for today’s edition of Blog A Day, so welcome to my 360 Library. Where are my manners? Hello Pixlbit how is your Thursday treating you? I have to say so far my Thursday is going well. I took in the new episode of Arrow last night and this was the first time I actually watched an episode as it aired. Before that it was all Netflix and CW App. The one disappointment I do have is that my cable doesn’t offer the CW in HD. Blah! Anyways enough of my show based loosely based off a comic, it’s not Quick Hits so it’s all video games! Let’s get started with my 360 library.

Well Happy Wednesday Pixlbit Nation! I still don’t get why it is warm (80 degrees and sunny) but I would have liked a couple of weeks of winter like weather but hey it is what it is. Anyways for today I’d like to focus on a system that many people adored, but I stayed away from until the release of the next generation version, and that is the X-Box. The X-Box was a hell of a machine, but I found a nice home in the Playstation Camp. I understood what the X-Box offered but at the same time I had a sizeable PS2 library and I didn’t want to make that financial investment in another console. I actually waited a bit until the release of the 360 and a used X-Box was going for around $100. One day I decided it was worth a try to pick up a console, and it was probably around the time of the Buy 2 Get 1 Free deals at GameStop so I stocked up on titles that were exclusive to the console…and maybe a cheap copies of games I owned on the PS2.

Pixlbit Happy Tuesday! For you East Coasters again Stay Warm! As the Blog A Day rolls on it is time to get back to my Game Collection blogs. For today I am going to skip around a bit and go with one of my favorite handhelds that seems to get a lot of hate because of a perceived “lack of games”, and that is the Sony Vita. At first I was a little hesitant to purchase a Vita because of the nub problems I had with the PSP. I loved the PSP but the nub issues soured me a bit but I think once I either buy replacement nubs for both PSP’s (1000 and 3000 versions) I’ll be happy.

Well hello Pixlbit and hello to week two of Blog A Day. I hope you all are doing well on this warm Monday morning. Sorry East Coast but it is going to be a warm 80 degrees here in Sunny Southern California and unlike yesterday, I am not going to mistakenly wear a lot of warm clothes on a warm day (throw in a trip to a busy Costco and it was starting to look like I just came form the gym). I wish I could tell you good folks that I took another game off of Mount Backlog but the majority of the weekend was spent trying to catch up with the normal viewing audience of Arrow. I am now officially caught up with this season and seriously it has been one crazy emotional roller coaster. You know it’s a good show when you want to slap some sense into one of the characters because the one positive thing is starring them in the face and they refuse to acknowledge it. Anyways that is better saved for Friday, because today is all about what games I’ve been playing…or trying to play…or just maybe things I wanted to play.
