So the latest NPD numbers have come out. According to the usual freakshow menagerie and leakers on the site, the WiiU and the Vita had dismal numbers yet again.

One of my more random gaming related hobbies is looking up articles and scans from old magazines—EGM, Gamepro, and so forth. I was an avid buyer of various mags when I was little; I’d go to the convenience store 5 minutes away from my house almost every weekend and pick something up with my $5 allowance (which was baller money back in elementary school). It’s fun going back to them from time to time and seeing what was what from an adult perspective.

So during the same investor Q&A in which they talked about their smaller E3 presence this year, Nintendo was also asked about the stigma around the WiiU in regards to it's lack of power. Iwata replied by saying that he wanted to tackle that perception head on, and convince developers that it's not the case. I really don't think that's an argument they can win--and his broader response actually explained why they shouldn't have to, and where their main focus should be.

My first, and most cherished memories of Mega Man came with MMX1 on SNES. It's easily one of the best games released on ANY console; I still play the PSP reboot to this day, and enjoy the hell out of it.
