I think I remember seeing some cabinets of Target: Terror when I was a kid. I think you also forgot to mention that the bystanders are also in hilariously animated FMV, complete with hammy acting and screams :P
You know what, I think you got a bit of slight interest out of me. This seems a the so bad it's good thing that reminds me of Space Mutiny.
Once you finish Transistor (which I need to get), you should delve into Bastion.
Rayman Legends I still haven't started since I want to finish the main story in Origins.
I do believe you that time hasn't been kind to the original Metroid. Bad game? Not at all and it was pretty revolutionary for its time, but other games and Metroid itself have improved the formula. Still, deserves a place in history.
The first Mega Man I do really like, difficulty and all. That said, frak the Yellow Devil!
