I had a blog planned for yesterday, but I guess my body saw fit to shut down, since I had been awake for too long. That's ultimately a good thing, my sleep schedule needed turning around anyway.
Well, it's official-- I'm snowed in and on telework status. YAY! Today's DnB is brought to you by a gent know as Random Movement with his song "Down Somehow". This is a great song to chill out to. Very milky smooth drum beats and bass lines compimented by a nice vocal loop. Check it out. You can't help but to bounce to the rythm just a little bit.
This one is pretty cool. You might call it the runner RPG, though that’s certainly an oversimplification. Yes, your party of four characters does run from left to right automatically but you still have a ton of control, like jumping, forward slashes, special attacks, backward leaps, and ranged attacks. Each level lasts maybe a minute but the game packs a lot into that small amount of time. Townspeople along your path will give you quests, usually to kill certain monsters or collect something like fruit of gems, and then you’re off! Well, you never actually stopped. The quests are very repetitive but they’re so short that they don’t feel that way, and that makes a big difference. You also get gold and random loot at the end of each level. The loot is generally pieces you can use to upgrade your characters. The graphics look like a fantasy cartoon and the music fits the onscreen action well.
Super Mario 64 was the first game to realize 3D gaming. This is important, since it beat out its closest rival by a few months. There had been attempts in the past by its arch nemesis, Sega, as well. Around that time, the whole landscape of gaming was changing. New people were starting to play games, and the next generation was about to take over.
I am in the minority of women when it comes to Valentine's Day. I loathe it, with a passion. Any psuedo holiday that is used to guilt people into buying shit or making people feel bad that they're not in a relationship is evil. And if that isn't bad enough, it's the day six years ago that my dad dropped dead of a heart attack. I am in a relationship, have been for 15 years, and we have always made it a point to not celebrate on the day of. We'll do something, but never on the day of. Why go through the agony of trying to find a restaurant that isn't booked solid selling over-priced set menus when you can go out the day before or the day after and have your choice of retaurants and food?
