As a 1up survivor, I too was looking for a new place to call home while frantically trying to save my blogs. I'm just glad I was able to call this place my new internet home. Alot of the people I knew from 1up move here so I was glad I was able to see some familiar faces, but I met some new ones as well. I'll write something about this hopefully today so I'll keep this short. But congrats Pixlbit and congrats everyone!

Chris Iozzi Celebrates Five Years of PixlBit
My first experience with PixlBit is similar to a lot of people here. When 1up finally went out to pasture I was looking for a new online community to write about and discuss the world of gaming. Some of the folks in my blogging circle recommended moving to PixlBit, they praised the site for having the same spirit as 1up and felt comfortable moving there to keep the flame alive. They were right. I instantly felt at home and never saw a need to look elsewhere to fill the gap 1up left behind.
When the site posted an offer for more people to join the crew I jumped on it. I was flattered when I received the offer to become a member of the team. My experiences with the staff have been great, I’ve written for other sites and their editors could be downright tyrannical, ruining something that’s supposed to fun. After seeing what goes on behind the scenes and working with a generously supportive staff, I can tell you this site is a true labor of love.
I wish I had the time to contribute more than I have, but I assure you I’ll be more involved in the months to come, including an upcoming Dungeons & Dragons Next campaign being recorded with other staff members. We had our warm-up game and we’re already having a blast. I also just might be able to squeeze out a video game review or three!
PixlBit’s biggest strength is the community. There are so many positive and dedicated gamers sharing their thoughts and experiences about our beloved hobby with a staff just as passionate as its user base. It’s an exciting time in games as we see the new consoles mature and a thriving indie scene continues to produce quality entertainment for everyone. I’m sure we’ll have plenty to say about it.
Looking forward to sharing another 5 years and beyond with you all. CHEERS!
