I didn't really bounce around too much after finishing up Axiom Verge.  I ended up settling into another game in the vein of Axiom Verge, Metroid and handheld Castlevania...  Shadow Complex.

Well, I finished up Axiom Verge over the weekend. I am currently in gaming limbo at the moment and not sure of where I want to go next. I have started up a second playthrough of Axiom Verge, but am not sure if that is really what I am feeling at the moment. I thought I was in the mood for Ratchet and Clank, so I downloaded it the other day, but haven't booted it up yet. I started Shadow Complex, but had to quickly put it down because I misjudged the amount of time I had. There was some sale a couple weeks back and I picked up Tomb Raider for cheap, but am not sure if I am ready for that game at the moment... these are the moments in gaming that I hate. I have plenty of games that I want to play, but I am not sure where to start. For the time being, I will probably just keep plugging away at Axiom Verge.

Well, so much for the "Cleaning up My Vita" idea. Over the past couple weeks I have been trying out a lot of my PS+ games, but if I am not feeling them within 30 minutes, I delete them. I know that it could be percieved as being a little unfair, but I should know early on if I am going to like a game or not. Let's see if I can remember some of the games that just weren't for me. A Virus named Tom was one of them, and Flame Over, Nova-111, Shutshimi, Nihilumbra, Actual Sunlight, Rocketbirds, and Nidhogg come to mind. I also played through Organ Trail once, they made some design choices that made me think the iOS version was better. I have also added to my endless Vita backlog. Recently, I have downloaded Helldivers, Risk of Rain, A Boy and His Blob, Tachyon Project and Axiom Verge.

I don't have much time at the moment, but I have played four matches.  That was enough of a taste for me, but I may still mess around if I have free time over the weekend.

Years ago I had picked up this awesome little game called Wolfenstein:  The New Order.  I loved it so much I played through it three times back to back to back.  In fact, it was the first game I ever got a platinum trophy in...  That is all well and good, but that is not what I came here to say.  Tucked inside the case was a code for the DOOM beta, I redeemed the code for kicks and thought nothing more of it.  

We had an Apple/Macintosh growing up. Some of my first memories of gaming were on an Apple II... My point is that I did not grow up with DOOM or Duke Nukem or Quake. Marathon was the FPS that I knew and enjoyed. I also played a lot of Descent, but that is a different kind of FPS.

For the past couple of weeks now, I have been thinking about replaying Half-Life 2. This in turn got me thinking about gamses that I revisit on a regular or semi-regular basis. That is what I wanted to talk about today, games that we come back to and replay.  Hopefully I will also have reason why I replay these games.

I love my Vita, in fact the Vita could be my favorite piece of hardware of all time. It plays a selection PSOne games, PSP games, console quality games and a crap-ton of indies. Essentially, the Vita plays all my favorite games.Shortly after I picked up my Vita, Best Buy had a deal of 32gb memory cards for $45. As I assume you know, that is a steal because the retail price for the 32gb is $99. Well, even with a 32gb memory card I have run out of space. I have over 60 games downloaded on my Vita at the moment, with plenty more on my download list and even more coming in the future. I know Salt & Sanctuary just came out on PS4 this week, but I would rather play it on Vita. Bastion, Axiom Verge, and Volume are in the same boat. I just prefer indie games on the Vita.

I have two things on my mind right now, Crimsonland and that $20 NES clone that I got from GameStop last week.

Look at that, I am so bad at BaD that I even dragged it into March. Shame on me.
