After Rare was bought out by Microsoft the Donkey Kong games were left in a sort of strange situation.  And when it came to getting a proper Donkey Kong side scroller for the gamecube...well let's just say it didn't happen. Don't get me wrong I Love, absolutely love Jungle Beat...but it's not Donkey Kong Country. Nintendo decided to go venture into completely new territory, with a completely new developer in Paon. Together they developed three Donkey Kong titles: DK: King of Swing for the GBA, DK: Jungle Climber for the DS, and the unholy  cherry on top... Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast.

The year is 2010. Gamers had 2 fantastic gravity defying platforming titles in Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2. Keep in mind now that Flip's Twisted World...even if it had come out before these games, still would have been just as bad as it is. So  prepare for a story all about how my life got flipped-turned upside down. And I'd like to take a minute Just sit right there...I'll tell you how I played a game called Flip's Twisted World.

Day 4: Remember when the Far Cry series was a joke? I do. I remember that Uwe Boll made a terrible film based off it too. Vengeance is far too appropriate a word to describe what I want to seek upon this game. So without further ado...I present....Far Cry: Before it was good...I mean Vengeance.

Day 3: Who the hell is Calvin Tucker? What makes this dumb ass so deserving of his own redneck jamboree? Why he's a fictional character of course. And by Jamboree I mean 12 god awful mini games...well more like 11, but more on that after. I can't believe I'm going to review this game. For your enjoyment, I proudly present to you: Calvin Tucker's Redneck Jamboree....yay...

Day # 2: Captain's Log...I'm lost somewhere in space. Stars all around, but I cannot figure as to what my location is. I'm becoming paranoid. It's quiet in space...too quiet. Almost eerie...almost...alien. A glow presents itself in my quarters. What is it? It beckons to me. This light....feels strange. I go towards the light. I open the door. Upon my desk...sits an evil...

Day 1: Today is the first day. I haven't played my Wii games in a while. I look at all the great titles I've bought. I see familiar faces of Mario, Metroid, and Zelda. A smile comes across my face. But I can't venture towards that shelf...no...this is a mission towards the crap I hid in my closet. I dust off my Wii and reconnect it. That familiar chime of the menu appearing before me. I see days of old...Check Mii Out, The Weather Channel, The Homebrew I installed to play foreign titles I bought off ebay...ah the nostalgia. I open up the closet and bust out the tote of bad games...still in alphabetical order...still just as bad. I sigh and fish out the game... There it is... Anubis II

Well it's almost here. I can taste it... February is coming and while I'm hardly a blogging savvant or any savvant for that matter...speaking of which I'm probably spelling savvant wrong, but I like to be fancy by using big words.

Well, I haven't blogged in a good while. A lot of interesting things have happened. I won't count the Mario Maker blog as that was more of a reaction piece to my already undying fan love-hate relationship between myself and Nintendo. Anyways, I wanted to discuss the Sonic Nintendo Wii U/ 3DS games...more specifically I was going to try and defend Sonic Boom... Key word here is try. But then I figured, why not all three games? So, without further ado, here goes nothing. Enjoy my musings!

One thing I've taken notice of in terms of the Wii U is that Nintendo is starting to pull out all the stops. Amiibo is selling like the hotcakes analysts expected they would. Sales are starting to pick up, the games have never been more plentiful as the U is already sporting a vast library of different game genres, and future releases are leaving me that eerily familiar feeling of ''I see what you did there'' syndrome...you know the one you generally get from Nintendo when they announce all their major ips are hitting all at once...only to see a long drought of games not coming....I know you Nintendo...it won't work this time...

You may or may not remember that back in 2011 that a little teaser trailer for a game called Tenkuu no Kishi Rodea or  as we know it... Rodea: The Sky Soldier was shown at Nintendo's E3 for the Nintendo Wii and 3DS. This game was developed by Yuji Naka famous for Sonic, NiGHTS, and founding his own studio Prope and being published by Kadokawa who also failed to release another great Wii game Earth Seeker stateside, but that is more of a fault in Kadokawa having no American branch.  That and another problem with Rodea is that is was released so late in the Wii's life cycle. The Wii U was on it's way in 2012 and the last few notable games to come out for it were Pandora's Tower and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.
