Selective Memory

That's an interesting reaction to Twilight Princess. Ocarina is my favorite Zelda, but I felt Twilight was too busy paying tribute to that game to be a great game in its own right. The world map in Twilight actually felt less epic in scope to me because though it was bigger they sectioned it off into narrow segments.

I fell asleep during the Amazing Spider Man 2. In the theatre. As someone with sleeping troubles, that's a rarity. All in all, I don't like these new Spider Man movies very much.

GoTG was a lot of fun and Days of Future Past is the second best movie I've seen this year. You should see Edge of Tomorrow though. I was blown away by that movie (despite being quite different from the book).

Happy Friday!

I actually watched that Corpse Party anime pretty recently despite never playing the game. In short, I didn't like it. But I will read what you have to say before I spill the beans.

Your Taste in Anti-Heroes Scares Me

I felt that with Breaking Bad the writers intended us to slowly drift away from rooting for Walter. I'm not sure they were completely consistent in that regard.

One villian I rooted for is the villian from Fate/Stay Night. This guy is without a doubt evil; the only joy he gets from life is from watching other people suffer. However, the writing made it clear that he was born this twisted, and despite his best efforts to blend into society he could never care for other people (including his own wife). Why I rooted for him is mostly because you almost couldn't argue with his ideals and logic.

Interesting, I'm playing Max Payne 3 right now actually. The story takes itself way too seriously, and it has this really obnoxious directing style in the cut-scenes. But other than that, it's a fun game and it's got some pretty cool, Uncharted-like, set pieces. I don't think it has any dream sequences as you are describing.

I also bought Wild Arms 1&2, Legend of Dragoon, and Double Dragon Neon from that flash sale. I like your style.

Sounds like you don't have much to say about the Breaking Bad ending? Despite all that build-up, I thought the ending kind of landed like a dud.

I'm finishing up Rurouni Kenshin right now, an old but good anime from the 90s.

This was like my favorite thing ever when I read it back in my first year of college. It also really spoke to that pessimistic side of me. I haven't really delved into many other comic books since however.

I bought a half a dozen of the new EGM when it was first starting up. And yeah, I thought it was pretty damn good. Very nicely polished and some excellent interviews within. Though it still felt really different to me. Of course, it's insanely hard to compete with nostalgia.

EGM was at its best when Shoe did his ranty editorials, or the reviews almost always done by three people. That time from about 2001-2005, when it wasn't uncommon for issues to be over 200 pages, will always be bring me fond memories.

I'm sure anyone who read EGM in the 80s and 90s will have an entirely different opinion however.

1UP.COM A Site frozen in time

I kind of likened 1up as it is now to a ghost town. It's like everybody all of a sudden vanished with all their belongings still in their houses. Yes, there are still people there, but I see them more as lingering spirits. Some are old residents who just refuse to move on, but there's nothing resembling a community there.

Lol, I said "definitely angry" instead of "definitely agree"... Still kind of makes sense though!
