I think I have the majority of these games, but I have yet to finish them, or even play them at all. This generation has been the generation of collecting for me. Change is coming... I hope.
Farewell to the Wii: Unsung Wii Games
Come see all the games you probably missed, but should've played (shame on you).
Did you know that Steven Spielberg co-developed/designed two games with EA for the Wii? According to the legendary film director, “[he] really wanted to create a video game that [he] could play with [his] kids,” one that could "show [them] they can have fun playing games that are non-violent and much more creative and strategic." And creative and strategic Boom Blox and its sequel were.
Each game housed a variety of different modes, all of which dealt with manipulation of objects in a real physics-like environment. Sometimes you were trying to destroy a certain set of blocks, other times you were moving blocks from a structure in a Jenga-like fashion. You could also hurl objects in the environment to knock block animals from their perches atop towers or just hit moving targets to score points in action heavy levels.
Boom Blox was everything Angry Birds is and more… in 3D. That’s right, you may think that Rovio’s now-hit series was the first to invent or even perfect the concept, but Boom Blox and its sequel hit before the Angry Birds sensation took off and did far more interesting things with the concept.
Young or old, absolutely everyone can enjoy Boom Blox. Many of the challenges will take you countless tries and even after you beat it all, there are always better scores and achievements to work towards.
