I think I have the majority of these games, but I have yet to finish them, or even play them at all. This generation has been the generation of collecting for me. Change is coming... I hope.
Farewell to the Wii: Unsung Wii Games
Come see all the games you probably missed, but should've played (shame on you).
Though it’s never clear exactly how simulations get their hooks into you, they always seem to manage it. Despite the fact that these types of games are incredibly addictive, they’re not released in large quantity these days. However, the Wii was home to one of the best in a long time, Dawn of Discovery, otherwise known as Anno 1404.
Taking the role of Prince Edward, players must expand the kingdom of their father, King George. This requires travel to brand new islands and establishment of not only a livable space, but also a thriving economy based on local crops and trade. As the game progresses so does the civilization, opening up brand new technologies and techniques. Though a minor part of the game, you’re even forced to defend your homestead against invaders and pirates.
When you couple the entertaining game progression with the extremely smooth pointer controls, Dawn of Discovery is a one of those stand-out Wii games you’ve probably never even heard of.
